Concerns about post-op intimacy

I'm glad you posted this question because it's a big thing weighing on my mind as well. I told my husband just this morning, "Jeez, you think we need a post sex towel now... just wait until my vagina is nothing but a dead end. We'll really be needing it then." I am fortunately enough to experience deep, intense orgasms where I know the cervix is involved so I am sure it'll be somewhat different for me which is a scary thing. I always worry about him too. I told him, "You know, it should be a requirement for the guy to get his penis measured at full erection before his girl has anything that might tighten/shorten her vagina so the doc knows what needs to fit in there." LOL Silly I know. I am a little worried about how we'll fit together afterward. I do know having things tighter won't necessarily be a bad thing though, just not too tight. Glad to see sex isn't just weighing on my mind but others as well.

On my mind too...

I'm also wondering how things 'fit together' after and if it all feels different for both parties! Also, I've read quite a bit about women's lack of desire post hyst too ~ hoping it's not all that bad. I did hear back from one sister telling me that her libido did not suffer at all which is encouraging. and all the best to all!

Concerns about post-op intimacy

Well I am really glad that others are thinking about this also. My Hubby and I have a wonderful Sex life now and always have. I am sure that in a way it is going to be kind of like have to wait after having a baby you know that they want you to wait 4-6 weeks. But I guess when I go back to the Doctor I will ask her how long she thinks it will be if all goes well. I hope that it is not going to be any where near 4 months. It will be a bit scarey that First time. But all any of us can do is take it slow. And really enjoy the evening. Try to make it really romantic candles, sexy nighty, maybe some wine but not too much and then take it slow and easy. Who knows it could be better than ever. Well at least that is what I am hopeing for. But good luck to us all .

Concerns about post-op intimacy

Well, I'm only guessing here (not a doctor) but I would think that since the vagina is designed to stretch large enough to let you pass a 6-10 lb baby (sometimes bigger! ) that fitting together after having that area "redesigned" would just be a matter of adjustment and time to allow things to get used to it's new "maximum capacity" requirements! (sorry...but I'm totally cracking up at all my euphamisms! must be the darvocet! )

Concerns about post-op intimacy

This may contain too much information but here goes. I married an Itialian man. Now we all hear about them, and their well, lets say well hung for lack of a better word. I am very petite, I am only 5ft and small, my husband has always been too big for me and most times it was painful to have sex, my dh is very gentel, but it still hurt. We have had sex one time so far since my surgery, it did not hurt, it was actually very comfortable. You may not need a post sex towell right away, but after a little while it does seep out, sorry. I just put a mini pad in my unders after shower, it caught it and its really not as bad as one would think. I found that post op, i have more libido then before, yeah!! Hope you all find sex life better post op, or at least as good!
