July Princesses...how are you?
Hi ladies,
Just wondering how all the July 2006 princesses are doing...I think I've finally turned a corner and am rounding the bend to "normal" again. It's been so long I'd forgotten what it's like! Anyone else out there feeling good again?
Take care!

July Princesses...how are you?
I am starting to feel a little more like me, from what I remember as me a long, long, long time ago, as each day passes. Some days though it feels like an uphill battle, although I know that part of it is my fibromyalgia making a mess of things.
The sex is getting a little better as well. Feels like that part of my life is taking FOREVER to get back to "normal". Not really dealing w/a whole lot of hormonal stuff, other than the insane cravings all the time. I mean, I can be sitting here, and all of a sudden pizza hut meat lover's pizza and a milkshake sound sooooo good. LOL
The 'phantom af's' are starting to subside as well. Now if I could just get rid of the sheer exhaustion all the time, it would be really great!
I hope all the other July princesses are doing well!!

July Princesses...how are you?
Hi there! Glad to hear that other July 2006're are feeling pretty good! I'm doing ok, the physical healing seems mostly done, but the emotional stuff is still hanging around! I cry at the littlest things. And I can't seem to get very enthused about doing much at all. Work just seems like going through the motions anymore. I don't know whether this is an age thing (I turned 50 ) or lack of hormones (I'm not taking any HRT).
I'm sleeping much better now, which is great! And the night sweats and hot flashes are better, they are gradually diminishing. I still need to get more exercise! But, it seems like a chore. I also seem like I want to sleep a lot, and still get more tired than I used to. Unfortunately, I have ended up with a "swelly belly" that I don't like! I still fit into my clothes ok, but I don't like the little belly!
Best wishes to all the other July sisters!

July Princesses...how are you?
I think I turned a corner, too! I required a 2nd surgery due to complications from my TAH. So 2 surgeries, two recoveries, but things are so much better now!
I lost weight after first surgery, gained it back after second, so I'm back to square one. But I'm working on it! This experience has really opened my eyes to the importance of good health and taking care of yourself. I think I've always put myself last on the to-do list. I'm trying to change that, because my family needs me healthy and whole!
Take care, sisters!

July Princesses...how are you?
I'm doing great...I still get a little tired every so often. I have been going to the gym starting at the 3 month recovery point and have lost 10 lbs. Eating better and feeling better. I still have an ovary, so I still get PMS, but none of the physical problems from before surgery...and less of the emotional since I am not in pain weeks out of every month.
My belly is an annoyance though...I have lost 5% of my total body fat in the last few months, but my belly is still as big as after the surgery (actually it looks bigger because everything around it is smaller). The incision feels like a scrape...and as I get more feeling back it's just plain annoying. I get sick of people telling me my belly is a sign of pre-diabetes, it's a sign of having recent abdominal surgery and I want the "flap" thing gone.
No regrets...even though a few of my friends recently had their first children. I thought that would make me upset since I have none...it doesn't.

July Princesses...how are you?
Hello Ladies!
I also feel as if I finally turned a corner sometime last month. I had a very busy couple of weeks that included some travel and I realized that I go days and days at a time now without thinking about the hyst anymore. I feel really good. I'm trying to stick to a regular exercise schedule. I'm not taking any hormones, just herbal supplements. I have hot flashes and nightsweats, but not nearly as bad as they were before surgery. I also have a lingering swelly belly that seems to feel right at home... no signs of packing up and moving out anytime soon. And I can't say much about the sex dept. I had my big chance in Dec. with the S.O. who lives in another state. He was sick and not in the mood for most of my visit. Who would have thought, after all I went through to have more fun!
Warmest Regards to My July '06 Sisters!!
(I'm ready for the return of the hot weather!)

July Princesses...how are you?
Hello July sisters. Well I turned the corner just to find myself right back where I started a few weeks later. I have both ovaries and ask my hubby horrid PMS. I keep injuring myself because I feel better I forget about the hyster. I have lost weight but can not seem to lose the dreaded swelly belly. I started doing Yoga and Pilates. I have to say that if you want to tighten your abs do Pilates. I still have pain every once in awhile. Other than that I feel good. I do get tired often but found a cure for that. Since I am a college student and only go to school two days a week I take a mid morning nap on the days I do not go to school. After my mid morning nap I study. I know I live a horribly dull life. I hope the rest of my July sisters are feeling good.

July Princesses...how are you?
Hi ladies; glad to see each of you here....and it's good to see you all doing well.
I've lost 20 pounds since the surgery, everything on my body looks proportionate except my tummy....I still have a bit of a pooch. My waist actually measures almost as much as my hips. Crazy!
I have been going back to the gym since the 8 week mark, and am now back to where I left off plus some. I have taken up running and am up to 20+ miles a week in addition to my 5 days a week at the gym.
I feel wonderful; the only sign I have (other than the tummy) is an occasional abdominal twinge and the fading scar.
best of luck to all of us....I am hoping others will be back to check in.

July Princesses...how are you?
I sometimes think back to last year at this time. I had had my endometrial ablation and was so hopeful it would help, but didn't know that I was severely anemic yet. Last April was when I started having iron infusions. Wow...what a difference a year makes! I have more energy than I've literally had in 2-3 years. Before and during the holidays my attitude sucked...I didn't really care about the holidays, but since the new year and getting into a routine again, I'm doing really well. Now, if I could just lose some weight, I'd be doing really, really well! Much luck and love to us all!

July Princesses...how are you?
Oh WOW!!! It's so nice to see familiar names...just like old times! I didn't see RuthieG, Diamond3, or Newyorkgal though...anyone hear from them anymore? I'm doing terrific. Some swelly belly yet, mainly when I'm doing too much or if I have tight jeans on. That sort of thing. I'm still having some hot flashes...was having them off and on before my hyst...but now my body has added sweating, both the night and the day varieties, just for fun. Let me tell you that it's not much fun to wake up in the middle of the night completely drenched as some of you already know! I even kept my ovaries hoping to not have to go through all this for a few more years. Maybe I should have had them removed after all. I'm still OK with my decision to have my cervix removed. That was a decision I angonized over long and hard over before my surgery. As far as sex goes, I know everything works down there but since my DH has ED we don't do much in the sack. My DD and I are going to start working out at the fitness center in town. I've gained some weight back that I had lost after my surgery. BUMMER! But working out should help take it back off and tone me up. (I can hope anyway) Oh and since my hyst in July, I have a new granddaughter born in December. I write in my hystersister journal regularly but am sad to say that I don't get on the pre and post op boards much anymore...was I surprised to see this thread. Until our 1 yr hysterversaries...Be happy and well... to all!
