anyone been shocked during urodynamic test??

I had a urodynamics test today and as soon as they put the cath in i had this HORRIBLE shocking feeling going down my back. They had to stop the test and i then fainted. After they woke me up with the smelling salts I was in severe pain. They had no idea what happened and said it never has happened. I left and went straight to my ob and he also has no clue what happened. He said it could of been a bladder spasm. If it was a spasm why would it hurt in my back. He now is hesistant to do the surgery next week. He did another biopsy and pap and said if it didn't come back cin 111 then he would put off the surgery cause he doesn't want to do surgery if i can't tolerate a cath. I am in tears as i type this. I thought once you had severe dysplasia that it wouldn't just go away. Why I am having a hysterectomy if he thinks the dysplasia could get better and put off surgery for 3-6 months? Please respond if you have any answers for me.

It sounds to me like they hit a nerve some how, but I am not a medical professional. Hitting a nerve would produce the shock.

I'm sorry you had such a horrid and frightening time at your test.
If it helps, I've read its not uncommon for people to faint when having this test.
I'm suprised you doc didn't know this.
Have you thought about seeing another doctor to get a second opinion?

Thanks so much for the link on the urodynamics. It was very helpful. I had no idea their was a possibility of fainting. I think the pain I had was a bladder spasm. I am still in a great deal of pain and hope my surgery isn't rescheduled. Thanks again
