Hospital Stay, how long?

I think my surgery was scheduled for 7AM. I had to be there two hours prior. Around 5 PM, my doctor said the surgery went so well that as long as the blood work came back okay, I could walk a loop of the hallway and I could go to the bathroom, he would let me go home instead of staying. By 9:30 that night I was walking out the hospital doors and on my way home! Good luck with your surgery.

I am so glad to hear you say that. I am schedule for my LSH on 2-28-07, I am so nervous. So you haven't had any gas problems at all? Did you have fibroids? Any bleeding?

I WANTED TO HEAR THAT!!! lol
I was going to ask my dr if I could go home that same night (well, if things went ok). Dh thinks I'm nuts. With my 3rd c/s, he was going to let me go home the next day. I felt great after that one. Then again, it was my 3rd c/s.

Hi,
I haven't had mine yet, but I think it depends on how well the surgery went; how you are responding to it; your Dr. and your insurance company.
If you seem fine and your Dr. is happy you may get out the same or next day.
It would appear, I am going to be in for the best part of a week, regardless...lol. When I went in for my Lap; the patient before me was having a hyster done by my Dr, and was told she would be in for 4 - 5 days. Then my Aunt had one, done by my Dr,and was in for 4 days. My sister was in there for the best part of a week; and she tells me, our Dr. likes to keep his patients in for most the week, so he can keep an eye on them, and make sure they are getting the best chance to heal. He says ladies often go home too early, and end up doing more harm than good, because they start doing too much too soon.
I have never been a fan of hospital stays, but don't be in too much of a hurry to go home. If your Dr. thinks it is for the best, then perhaps you should let them pamper the Princess; besides, if complications occur, you are better to be in the hospital, rather than worrying yourself sick, at home.
Best wishes to you for your upcoming surgery, and may you have a swift recovery.

I did have a couple days of gas pains that went to my shoulder. I rocked in the rocking chair to get it moving and when I was laying down I would prop up the side that was hurting with a body pillow. That helped so that I could sleep. I had no fibroids. My only problems were endo and adeno. And I had very little bleeding. Good luck to all of you. It was an easier surgery for me than the laparoscopy that I had in March to diagnose the endo.
