Questions on hormone creams?

Ladies, I have some questions for you on the compounded estrogen creams. I have been using vivelle dot for the last three years. I have to change it every 72 hours and also need to wear two patches .01 and .025. I've thought all along that a daily dose might be better for me but want the transdermal delivery due to migraine headaches. Since I'm an old timer at this I know change = fluctuation.......so I want to really think this thru. How difficult is it to change to the creams? I can call my compound pharmacy to convert dosages but am wondering how long it took for you to level out after the change. When you changed did it affect your migraines? If I apply cream in the morning and bathe at night will I affect my estrogen levels? I think the pharmacist told me an hour for progesterone cream, but my estrogen is more essential to my well being I'm pretty familiar with application sites but more interested in how you felt after converting to a daily dose as compared to the patch and how you rode out the change. Thanks in advance for your help. My yearly is in May and I really want to research this before making a decision.

I can't help with the switch from the patch to the creams as I didn't use the patch for that long and I had tried a few other things after the patch. I can tell you that I have had no problems with bathing in the evenings. The creams should be fully absorbed into your skin if you apply in the morning. As long as you wait an hour before getting the area wet it should be okay.

Questions on hormone creams?

I am on Vivelle .075. I did the Bi-Est cream and it made my boobs hurt and grow. The growing wasn't bad as I am an A cup but the hurting definitely did not work. Also, I was really hungry and gained weight. I felt like I did when I was pregnant. -Vicki

Thanks Vickie. I appreciate your response. As I mentioned, I will give this a lot of thought before changing. I'd rather wear two patches than mess with my system too much.

I also had one doc try me on compounded Estriol cream. He was a quack and a half. He gave me a really strong dose and it was for putting on my arm or thigh. He told me to stop the estradiol and use only the Estriol for my replacement. I did it for about three days and I felt like I was going to die! I am serious when I say that too. I can't even explain to you some of the things that happened while I was on it. Then he gave me Testim which is a product for men only. He put the script in my husband's name. I never filled it. I just couldn't put something in my body that specifically says on the package "do not give to women." After the Estriol fiasco, I felt like he didn't know what he was talking about. He also told me he would cure my Interstitial Cystitis of the bladder and that did not happen either! I just threw away $1000 bucks for nothing except a big scam. -V
