Body Odor :(

I had my hyst in December 2000, at age 44 and now am in peri-menopause/menopause (some months I really feel the cycling, others I really feel the menopausal symptoms )

For about the past year, I've been increasingly noticing body odors... mostly perspiration. Even in the dead of winter, I'll be cold and will notice that my underarms stink. This is sooooooo annoying and embarassing And it seems to cling to every part of my body.

I was having some success using Degree anti-perspirant for the past 2 years, but now, it seems as though it's not effective

I also notice that my urine smells a lot stronger, regardless of how much water I drink.

Regardless of how diligent I am with personal hygiene, I feel like I stink all the time. It never used to be like this

Has anybody else noticed this?

Body Odor :(

Have you tried Certain Dri? You can get it at wal-mart or walgreens in the deod. section and it REALLY works. My dr. told me about it.

Body Odor :(

Dany,
I'm so sorry you have this. A friend of mine warned me that this kind of thing does happen with menopause sometimes. Not a real treat, huh. We women never get a break, do we? You are always so sweet and so helpful to everyone. Bless you for that. Sounds like your symptoms are now catching up with you. Can you ask your doc again about estrogen?? I know you've tried in the past, but maybe now it could be worth re-mentioning to him/her. Good luck to you.

Body Odor :(

Thanks for the feedback ((((Wickedwoman99))))) (I'm sure you're not wicked at all ). I'll check into that deodorant: I'm in Canada, and it sometimes takes a while for products to reach us

((((Tara))))) You are so sweet I do plan about asking my doctor about HRT, next time I see her. In fact, I plan on demanding it: these natural products simply don't do the trick!!!

Glad I could help. My DH wanted to comment on the wicked part, but I wouldn't let him near the computer....lol

Body Odor :(

Good morning ladies,
I heard that it wasn't that my body odors were more intense, but that my sense of smell was what was enhanced. Just something to think about.

Body Odor :(

Oh, that's a really good point (((Nanfal))). It makes sense, since nobody else seems to be noticing... not even my fine-nosed daughter

Either way, I really hate this and will be certain to mention it to my doctor

Body Odor :(

I have noticed more body odor since my hysterectomy as well. I do not like the way my body smells. Never had this problem before. I only feel better after a shower, but it doesn't seem to last long. I use Degree deodorant and also use baby powder with cornstarch but nothing seems to help!! The night sweats, and the day hot flashes are awful, but I guess if I have to choose between this and the "can't stand up" cramps I was getting pre-surgery, I choose this...not that I have a choice!!!
