change in taste??..........

Has anyone experienced a change in taste??? I used to be a daily morning coffee drinker, all the way up surgery. Once I got home and made some coffee, it just isnt right...the smell, the taste. I keep asking people if they can smell the difference, and they say it smellls the same as before. But it smells why different to me. Just wondering if this is normal or if I seem to be the one case that has undergone everything differently than everyone else.

Thanks sisters............

Gosh ... d'you know ... I'd forgotten all about that! I couldn't drink coffee for a little while after my hyster! Everything's fine now and I honestly couldn't tell you when it started tasting ok again ... but it did! I put it down to hormones ...

Hope your recovery is going well.

Yep, several of us went through a "phase" of things not tasting quite right. Even now, coffee at times just does not taste right or hit my stomach right.

change in taste??..........

I've always been a tea drinker, strong, dark and absolutely with milk! Since my surgery, I don't want milk in it at all, and I've even been drinking some herbal teas, which I wouldn't touch before!

So, yes, I have had a taste change about my tea. Don't know why??

change in taste??..........

Yes..same here. Yet mine goes beyond drinks tasting "off". I have lost desire for some foods also. And I can't eat as much as I did before the surgery. <which is a good thing, since I have lots of weight to lose> I was told by several of my "sister friends" that my taste will come back.

Good luck ladies!

yes!! Me too! Everything tastes a little different to me, and not in a good way. I can't eat as much and even my favorite things taste a bit off. Yuck.
Hopefully, it will all go back to normal soon. I jsut hope that when it does we remember what "normal" is!! haha

I lost my taste for Italian food. The frozen dinners someone bought for right after surgery are still in the freezer. Tried to have it at a restaurant. YUK. Not even Pizza. Strange.
