Menopause Vitamins

Has anyone tried the Menopause pack of vitamins (contains the vitamins, calcium, black cohash, and evening primrose oil......all in one pouch for each day).

Also....what does Evening Primrose oil do....and when should that capsule be taken?

Menopause Vitamins

Hi Roz

I've been buying the Black Cohosh, Calcium and Evening Primrose Oil and a few other supplements separately (mainly trying to improve the and issues). However, I take the EPO and Black Cohosh at the same time. This way, I know exactly what I'm getting.

Regarding your question regarding Evening Primrose Oil, here's a link to an Evening Primrose Oil Article that may help you.

In regards to Evening Primrose oil....What is the recommended dosage? The EPO that I take has: 910 mg LA (Omega-6); 100mg GLA and 290mg other fatty acids. Does this sound 'right'?

Menopause Vitamins

Lisa,
I take 1,000mg of EPO daily. I checked the label and it says it has 90mg of GLA. Not sure if that's right, but it works for me. Also, the EPO should be taken with Fish Oil capsules.

IMHO I think that buying packs of vitamins is usually more expensive than buying them separately. It is usually more cost effective to buy separately and if you buy separately you can get exactly what you need and the doseage you need. For example, I didn't see magnesium listed. Magnesium is needed to make the calcium more absorbable. So now you'll need to purchase magnesium also. What is the doseage on the calcium? It is recommended that we take 1,000-1,500 mg per day. Why are you wanting to take Black Cohosh? Is this something you need?

Just my worth.
