just trying to figure it out

First, this is my first post, but I've been lurking and can't tell you how helpful reading all of your posts has been. I had a TLH, kept the ovaries, on 2/20. Have done well overall w/ little pain and only moderate problems w/ gas. Just really tired all the time. Went for my followup today, a 20 minute ride each way, then drove for the 1st time to pick up my son & daughter. When I got home had some red discharge...enough to have to change a pantyliner (hope that's not to graphic)..now I haven't had any discharge hardly at all, wasn't even needing to wear a pantyliner..and none that was bright red, so I'm kinda freaking here. My mind tells me it's just because I've done more today than before (DH, DD & DS have pampered me so much) but it's still got me kinda scared...no pain..a little cramping from sitting in the car, etc. Any help would be appreciated...

I am sorry that you are having a difficult time with recovery. I had a TLH or LAVH (long story). I'm not quite sure. I can tell you I was really tired for 2 weeks. Moderately tired for 1/2 week and doing pretty well at the moment. I know the moment can chane in a second. God, I hope not.

Anyway, I have not had any bleeding besides immediately after surgery. All was gone by that evening. I know everyone has a different experience with that part. It probably wouldn't hurt to contact you dr to get his take on it. I was told I shouldn't expect any bleeding because I was stitched internally not externally through the vagina.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

It never hurts to call your doctor's office and talk to him/her or the nurse. I think it's a good sign that the discharge subsided. But, if for at least your piece of mind, I would call and ask about it. (I had a TAH and had a brownish discharge for about 5 1/2 weeks. Sometimes it would get a little heavier when I was more active, but never more than a mini-pad's worth for the entire day.)

I would jsut give the Dr. a call as well. I didn't really bleed much at all, either. but at the hospital before I left, the Dr. told me not to freak out if I started bleeding heavily after a week or 10 days, that it was normal. I remember thinking to myself how glad I was that he told me that or I'd have been on my wa to the ER!!
Can't hurt to call the Dr. office jsut to see...
good luck and I hope you feel better soon, and TAKE IT EASY!!!!!!
