surgery scheduled

well, i'm scheduled for surgery a week from tomorrow, and the surgeon is going to be doing several things, all related to results from my incisional hernia repair surgery....she's going to excise the scar tissue and clean up the scarring which she thinks also may be on a nerve, and there's also a lump (feels like a pea, but even that little thing hurts...all the time) which she believes is a granuloma that may have formed on an internal stitch (a couple of inches from the visible incision scar), and she's going to check to see if there are any hernias though she can't feel any. basically, i didn't heal well from the hernia surgery. so, might i actually be getting rid of chronic pain i've had since i had the hysterectomy a full 2 years ago? that would be so great. it hasn't stopped me from being active, but i'm always aware of it, which makes me always aware of the hysterectomy which i want to put behind me.... at least a little. it adds to my regret about starting with any of this surgery. and, unfortunately, in the back of my head, just lingering back there, are thoughts that she'll find something new. i know the cervical/vaginal dysplasia isn't going to be where she's doing the surgery, but the fear factor gets awakened. thanks for listening. it helps to put it into words.

I think no matter what we endure, once we hear "cancer"...our minds will always go back to it. Know you aren't alone in that concern.

Now, here's to a speedy recovery! With NO pain after recovery!!

thanks, everybody, for your good wishes. i arranged today for some needed coverage at work for deliveries, though it still means my employee will be working alone rather than with me at my shop...but she'll be fine and is ok with it. and, i need and want to plan to take off not just the day of the surgery but the following day as well...and then i'll have sunday which i always have off so that's 3 days. life has been very stressful for me these days with issues outside of my health, but i really want to take care of this, and hopefully cross off this thorn in my side (sort of literally!). i'll re-read these posts during the week, and know it will help to encourage me.
