Burning-like pain?
Hi all. I'm about 2 1/2 weeks post-op (TVH) and have been doing really well. Day before yesterday though, I started having this pain in my lower left abdomen, kind of a burning sensation. It wasn't terrible...I figured it was gas, so I popped some Gas-X & tried to forget about it. I drove for the first time yesterday, didn't think I overdid it...just drove to town (well "town" for me is an hour round trip, lol) & picked up some books from my mom at her office, then came home. I did have my 4 year old with me, so it was a bit of a challenge. I was pretty tired & hurting more when I got home. Today though, I have felt AWFUL! Worst since I came home from the hospital 2 weeks ago! My left side has been getting worse & if I take Percocet, it takes the edge of for a bit, but then it creeps back in. Any idea what could cause this pain? An ovary perhaps? But why would my ovary hurt? It's always in the same spot though & getting very annoying, making it hard to sleep too.
A little OT from this post, but I got the prelim back on the path from my surgery & my cervix was positive for CIN III. This is what my last LEEP came back as in September (they didn't get clear margins). I'm really suspicious now though of the CLEAN pap I got in December...how the heck is that possible (different dr than the one who did my TVH)?? The nurse wouldn't go into it anymore than that...said the dr would go into more detail at my post-op in 2 weeks.
Thanks ladies! Hope everyone is healing well...

Burning-like pain?
Maybe you have a little pain because you just had major surgery?? And you are cruising around with a 4 yr old?

Um...OK. lol Not sure how to take that, but yes, I obviously know these things. What I'm trying to point out is that one minute I was fine and the next I was having new pain (that started before the cruising around with the 4 year old). If it was a just a "little" pain, I wouldn't have posted...I have a pretty high threshold for pain, actually. Just curious about a new, localized pain, that's all.

I guess my own recovery is not quite up to par with yours. I am nowheres near ready to ride in the car let alone drive it. I went with the hubby to the bank and almost cried the bumps hurt so bad. I guess I can sympathize but I have had pain in the right side, left side, mid center, lower left, upper right, back center, very lower pelvic

I'm sorry you're still in so much pain. Was your surgery abdominal? Mine was vaginal, which probably makes alot of difference, if so. I've also had a C-section, so I am all too familiar with dealing with an abdominal incision (plus I got an infection from the staples). Unfortunately, I don't have much choice about the driving...my H went back to work the latter part of last week, leaving me with our son (I'm a stay at home mom). We live in the middle of nowhere & it's a pretty good drive to get to anywhere!
Hope you get to feeling better very soon!

Sami - I would let your dr. know. Did you keep your ovaries? I had pain like that after my myo and my left ovary was trapped in the incision...hence the hyst. I'm so sorry you are going through this I know how bad it *****. Don't ignore your pain. It is trying to tell you something
