Re: Bladder issues

This story is to hopefully help someone. A week after my surgery I was leaking a lot of clear fluid vaginally I went to my doctor and they thought I might of had a bladder fistula. After reading quite a bit of it on hyster sisters I was not too happy. I first had a catheter in that didn't work out to well so they removed it. I still continued to leak. The doctors sent me for ct scans and cystograms. Nothing showed up on these tests. Then I was referred to a urologist. They wanted to do an IVP and Cystoscopy to rule out a fistula. They wanted to do it under conscious sedation in case they needed to put stints in the ureters. They also let me know I would probably need to have another surgery to repair the fistula. Needless to say not what I wanted to hear. But at about 3 1/2 weeks the leaking completely stopped. It turns out that the cuff was not completely stiched around and interstitial fluid was leaking out through the hole in the cuff. As the cuff started to heal the leaking stopped. Now am completely dry with no surgery. Yeah! it resolved itself! So for anyone going through this sometimes its not a fistula!

Hmm very interesting,cbrn. I have a lot of clear fluid that seems to sit up near the cuff which is puzzling me. I also seem to leak it through the urethra, but I had a problem with delayed tissue healing, so maybe that is the cause of mine too.....
With vaginal oestrogen I feel that I am starting to heal, so maybe my 'leak' might go too..... can but hope.
