Pelvic floor repair without a hysterectomy?

Hi! New here...

I'm meeting with my doc on Monday to discuss pelvic floor repair (rectocele, cystocele, and prolapsed uterus). I discussed it (with a different doc) three years ago, and when he said he really wouldn't recommend doing it without a hysterectomy, I decided to rethink the whole thing.

I'm in a different place in my life now, and I'm ready to part with the uterus if necessary. I've seen websites that talk about being able to do these repairs while preserving the uterus, but I'm very curious about how it goes.

My original doc suggested the weight of it would just drag the whole works down, and I'd be in for a repeat surgery in short order. I sure don't want to do this more than once!

Does anyone here have experience (first or second-hand) with how this plays out long-term?

I looked into having my uterus put back before my hysterectomy and from what I found, they attach the uterus to somewhere near your tailbone and it has a 5 year success rate. I think that is correct.
