My brief story- hyst October 2006

The worst part, post surgery, was trying to have my first bowel movement afterward- really just comparable to severe, prolonged gas pain. If you can endure that, you've made it.

The weird parts, for me, were that, before surgery, i was on non-cyclic birth control pill for 2+ years to regulate my hormones. Going cold turkey from that was the greatest change my body experienced-- i suddenly had a dark wirey hair moustache; but i don't think i have dark spots on my skin any more. Go figure. And sudden gray hair. Yuck.

The MOST IMPORTANT CHANGE is that i suddenly have double the sex drive i did before. Before. . . I had a normal-to-dim sex drive. Now, it's more like when i was in my early 20s. the worst part is i don't have a steady guy to verify that with. So I'm expanding my world . . .

Sounds like you are doing well! I had my LAVH just a few days before you...Oct 19th. Best thing I ever did! I feel so much better! My back no longer aches for no reason and the floods have gone for good! My sex life is better than ever (poor hubby can't keep up sometimes, but always willing to try). I still get really tired some days after a full day of work, but it is getting better every day! Glad to hear you are doing so well and hope you meet that special guy soon who will fulfill your needs!!!
