I had my hysterectomy on feb 7 2007. I don't think I should still be bleeding. Should I?

Hi aj,

You most certainly shouldn't still be bleeding and I woudl suggest a doctors appointment ASAP. You may just have granulation but it really needs investigation. Please let us know how you get on.

Take care.........Karen

Some of us bleed for quite awhile post hyst! I did for 3 months! If you are bleeding bright red blood that fills a pad an hour, give your doctor a call.

Bleeding can occur as part of healing. Also, as you increase your activity level you can bleed more. And of course, you can bleed if there is a complication, so yes, it is wise to stay in touch with your doctor to make sure you are okay.

Best wishes to you!

I bled off and on for 10 weeks. I was told to expect light bleeding/spotting/discharge for up to 12 weeks. Like mentioned, increased activity can cause bleeding to increase, as was the case for me.
If you're bleeding bright red blood, filling a pad an hour, or having increased pain a Dr visit is warranted. If you're just generally concerned that you're still bleeding give your Dr a call, if for nothing else, reassurance that everything is normal.

Feel better soon, dear!

I don't know which surgery you had, but the bleeding should be easing or stopping by now. Is it getting any worse?

The best thing would be to get this checked out with your doctor, if only to put your mind at rest that things are on schedule.

Take care!

I never had heavy bleeding, but did have spotting for 6 weeks. One pad a day. If you are filling pads, you should check with DR. As everyone says, we all are different, and it never hurts to check.
