TAH BSO Endometrial Cancer Surgery 1A 2/22/07 Questions

Hello everyone. New to the site. Had A TAH BSO for Endometrial Cancer Stage 1A on 2/22/07. After finding this site and reading a few posts I see people talking about a mesh. My doc. never mentioned this. I would appreciate info on that and also concerns over vaginal pain which seems to be increasing. Had my post op check last week and he said all is on schedule for healing. Will see my doc again next week.
Thanks,
EMptynester

TAH BSO Endometrial Cancer Surgery 1A 2/22/07 Questions

Hi MTnester
Welcome to Hystersisters! You probably don't have any mesh. It's generally used when there are repairs done, like my bladder sling. My dr used some mesh to secure that, but it isn't used for a hyst alone. You could ask your dr so you know for sure, but it would be my guess you don't have any.

There could be different reasons for your pain. The first thing I would wonder about is how much you're up and what are you trying to do? One very common cause of pain is swelling and your body trying to tell you to get off your feet and rest. Another common cause is sitting too much. The pressure on your bottom and also having your abdomen constricted can cause discomfort. Your body will tell you when you do something it doesn't like. Part of recovering well is learning to listen and understand the signals it is sending.

If you've been resting well and don't feel over doing could be the cause you should ask your dr to check it out for you. If you have an infection or something not right internally you'll probably feel unwell and possibly have a temperature, but you should be able to pretty well control normal pain associated with normal healing by taking your meds and limiting what you do.

I hope this is something simple and you'll be feeling better soon. Keep us posted on your progress.
's, Rita
