Welcome to Spring Wednesday 21 March

Happy Spring Everyone
Just checking in quickly. I need to catch up on all the posts that were later last night. It is supposed to be a windy day in Florida today. I will be working on cleaning up the kitchen today - unpacking those boxes - and wiping up the dust.
Food today Breakfast Hot tea and banana
Lunch maybe soup since we are getting out of soup weather here so I need to have my last few soups before I switch to fruit and cottage cheese or daily salad
Dinner - chicken and broccoli with a sweet potato
will check in with you later
Have a great day - drink your water.

Welcome to Spring Wednesday 21 March

Good Morning Lynn and all who follow. I'm just getting here today. Moving slow. It's kind of windy here also. I'm up a little over 1/2 lb from last week. Got to buckle down. don't think I'll make my original goal of 10 lb lost by March 31st. Still a chance for 5lb though...so that's my new goal!!!

Have a good day everyone. Lynn says to drink our water!!! I think that's where I went wrong this last week.............not enough water.

Hi to Melissa and Fran

Fran I'm aiming to get to be about your weight and that's really the best way...what you have done. You are eating healthy.

And PJ I'm glad you figured out what caused your ketosis. You're right Lynn ALWAYS does know .

take care

Welcome to Spring Wednesday 21 March

Hi Lynn and Nanno, and the rest of the BEST!! Yesterday was very busy out in the field, enough walking hills and carrying gallons of water to make it worthwhile, especially now that I remember how much a gallon of water weighs Food was not as bad as it could have been, but definitely not as good since we had a salad and a "slice" of pizza that was really 2 slices, maybe 2 1/2 or 3, but I don't want to admit to that. Some jelly beans, then a small Frosty from Wendy's and some salad and garbanzos when I got home. Boy I just love that herb blend salad, so tasty with arugula and dill and I don't know what else, but it's just really good.

Today I AM working from home and on a more normal shift since I put in 12 hours yesterday. Too much, but it gives me license to work only 8 hours today! It all evens out. I took the pups on our normal walk at 6:30 and they were thrilled to have a morning walk. We'll do the evening shift too, so even if I spend the day sitting, I will have gotten some exercise. Had a bowl of generic Grape Nuts type cereal with a banana and some strawberries and the lowfat chocolate soy milk. Probably too sweet, but it sure was filling. Lunch will be salad and garbanzos with w.w. toast, and dinner will be more salad with garbs and probably toast but maybe not. Snacks, if taken, will be tangerines or an apple. Oddly enough, when I'm home working and I don't have the option to bake.and if no one else is here then I don't snack much. I should spend more time here alone, maybe

Yes, I am feeling much more and perky. It was good to get out of the office with someone yesterday and chat as we drove around. It helps let off some steam, I suppose.

I am glad to see Fran pop in for a mo - I've been worried, but now I see there was no reason, she's just plugging along and making progress! Congratulations on your continued success!!

Since I have not had time to take notes and can't remember everyone's details, I'll just send a great big to all my BEST friends! Your progress makes me proud, and your support makes me strong.

Welcome to Spring Wednesday 21 March

Morning BESTers

Just a quick hi before I begin to pay bills. Then it's to neighbors to share some tea and chat for an hour. Back home to make a few calls. I hope it warms up. It's but only about 36F right now. It's SPRING - get on the stick Mother Nature!

Bkft: oatmeal w/raisins, hot tea
Lunch: 1/2 my sandwhich from yesterday
Dinner: probably leftovers....don't want to freeze the ham to make soup another day. As Lynn said - soup weather is almost over.

Lynn and Nanno - I was still all snuggly when you were posting. Looks like Desk is about to follow me. Hugs to all - I'll check back later.

Welcome to Spring Wednesday 21 March

Morning All!

I'm typing this without my glasses (need them for reading), so excuse anything strange. LOL

I Lost a POUND! How did that happen? I'm totally confused. No formal exercise for 3 days...lots of movement though. I guess I was conscious of what I was eating, but it wasn't perfect. I guess I just need to get it through my head that slow and steady is going to win this race. No killer exercise, just plenty of it AND sensible eating.

I have to say that the DR. OZ program has made healthy eating more enjoyable. I never starve anymore, and I rarely get that afternoon sleepy feeling that I ALWAYS had before (from my sugarholism, no doubt). Just need to be patient with myself regarding the slow scale movement.

Fran...I have to go back and read yesterday posts. I must have missed you! Glad to hear that you continue to succeed!!
Nanno...You're right...I'm my worst critic! Need to get a proper perspective!
Desk...Enjoy your work day at home! Any decisions about the gym yet? Maybe working out at home is the answer at this point? I enjoy being able to exercise without anyone else around (can moan and groan without embarrassment! LOL)
Lynn...I'm going to pay close attention to what you're eating and try to follow along.
Melissa...I think it's so great that you have a neighbor to have tea with so often. That's a great, healthy thing to do too, you know!!

OH! You ladies have inspired me to buy sweet potatoes! I bought 4 pounds PLUS some little individual ones for microwaving! I mashed them with a little skim milk and Butter Buds last week and the family LOVED them. I told them I'd be replacing the while potatoes with sweets and they loved the idea! I raised healthy eaters...what happened to me???

Have a GREAT Day ALL!!!

Welcome to Spring Wednesday 21 March

Hey PJ and all
I will try to be very specific on what I eat and how much I eat of it if you want to try to follow along. I will tell you that I only eat about 1050 - 1100 calories a day if that, so that may be too few for you. That is with my nutritionists following me so that is safe for me. I am 5'7 1/2 " tall and I weigh about 137 and wear a size 4 so you can kinda get an image of my size. I will post exactly what I eat and how much so you can get an idea - its actually pretty boring - I really eat to live and not live to eat these days except when I go out to a nice restaurant. Hope this helps. Lynn (p.s. My oncologist actually likes me at 145-147 lbs - I would wear a size 6 then)

Welcome to Spring Wednesday 21 March

Thanks Lynn! I am losing about a pound a week at around 1650 calories. If I concentrated harder on filling up with fresh vegetables, I think I could go below that and not be hungry. I CAN'T get hungry, or I start searching for trouble! I'm 5'9" and not as small framed as you. I'll never know what a size 4 or 6 looks feels like! I'd be thrilled with a 12, but I'm staying away from stores for my bottom half until I make some more progress. I'm twenty pounds away from being at a healthy BMI for my height. REGRETS! Would like to lose 30 now.

Your eating plan seems to be a whole foods approach, and that's the way I like to cook and eat usually. Soups and an occasional turkey meatloaf are as exciting as I get. We do red meat once/week (went years without it, but worried that my DS's needed it, so returned to once/week). Dr. Oz says avoid it completely. May do that again.

I'll be watching! Thanks again! HUGS!

Welcome to Spring Wednesday 21 March

Well, time for my PM post. Not like much can happen to me from morning to afternoon here at my most exciting job

Desk, glad you're your perky little self today. Remember what Lynn said, you can bake, you just can't eat it.

Believe it or not, I do that a lot. I'm known for my (sorry BESTERS) chocoate chip cookies. I end up making them a lot even with my DS away. I mail them to him, his girlfriend, other people and I make them for funerals at church. Most of the time, notice I said most, I never eat a one. Sometimes that is hard. Now, I couldn't do that with brownies that's my weakness. HOWEVER I am Loving just LOVING these fiber one bars. They hit the spot for me...EVERY spot!!!!!

Hi PJ...good for you losing a pound without trying I just gained 1/2 without trying

And hi Melissa again we don't even have any sun today it was sleeting earlier :wow:

I'll be walking the in some sloppy weather tonight. She has so much fur I end up having to bathe her after messy walks. she won't let walk without her though

See everyone later

Positive attitude today !

I am forcing a positive attitude today. I know that it helps. I will put on nice top and soft clean sweats after my afternoon soak.

Well, I am making sure I eat something every 3 hours. I have not been doing well at night when my insomnia has attacked.

Today a new beginning.
Bfast: Oatmeal/cinnamon, coffee
Snack: banana
Lunch: Baked Apple, Leftover crock pot stew
Snack: Power Bar (zone 16 gm protien)
Dinner: Spagetti, low fat sauce and whole grain pasta.
Water, Water, Water all day !

Tonight if the insomnia hits, tea and 2 rice cakes or a yogurt. I know that being sick with a sinus infection and not on my RH meds is why I have no energy, and do not get tired during the day because I cannot do much except rest and do some computer things. So, I choose to go with the flow, and do my best to get well.

Thanks to all the BESTer's who have helped me stay sane. Glad to hear there are so many who are making such great progress one day at a time. Hooray !
