still cannot figure out estrogen dosage!!

Hi!
I am still on the roller coaster. I have been on the 5 patch, the 37.5 patch, 2 pumps, 1.5 pumps and 1 pump. I am now on one pump per day after getting cramps in my legs from the 37.5 patch - behind the knees and charlie horses. Now I am back on the one pump BUT now I am getting aching behind my knees and aching in my arms at my elbows!!! (no charlie horses though.) I am also using a dab of .25 testosterone cream as well. Whenever I switch to the higher dose of estrogen, I bloat up like a beached whale from water retention as well. Does anyone have any idea why I am getting these body aches??? I am so used to them now that I am beginning to think that this is just the way it is. HELP!!

still cannot figure out estrogen dosage!!

When I added progesterone, my joint pain and swelling went away. Have you tried progesterone?

still cannot figure out estrogen dosage!!

Hi!
I tried 100mg prometrium at bedtime, but I could barely wake up and then the nausea was overwhelming until about noon. I felt half drunk most of the time too.The only thing I did like about it was I did sleep like a log and hence the circles under my eyes disappeared. I tried it for 3 months but the stomach thing never went away so I stopped. Any other suggestions?

Hi Anne!

Maybe you'd do better with progesterone cream so that you could control the dosing. I use compounded progesterone cream as a part of my hormone therapy but I don't use very much--just about the size of a pea each night before I go to sleep.

You can check with your doctor and see if that would be an option for you to try.

You sound just like me! My body aches so bad on the patch I can barely move. I am on .05 mg (the minimum to keep hot flashes away) but any time I tried to increase the dose I had bloating, worse fatigue and aches, and extremely sore breasts. I tried compounded progesterone troches and also cream and it made me extremely nauseated and I broke out all over with acne. My body is extremely sensitive to hormones and this is really frustrating. I wish I had something new to offer but I am struggling with the same issues. I don't know, maybe a different form of estrogen?
