Cost of TVH or TAH

Does anyone know what they actually charge for either a TVH or TAH? I realize most of you would be covered by insurance, but I am just wondering.

Since we live overseas, we no longer have health insurance in the US and I am always shocked at the outrageous medical bills. $3000 for a trip to the ER for what turned out to be a badly sprained ankle, $3000 for an annual echocardiogram, etc.

I will know soon enough. Next week is my surgery.
But I know it will be costly.

My LEEP..same day surgery ....was over $6.000.
I cannot imagine how much this will cost. At least double that, if not more bec i will be staying in hospital for 3-4 days.

My surgery was on a monday and I was released thursday afternoon. The total cost was just under 26K for the insurance company. My portion is about 1K for my co-pay.

My TVH was around $31,000. That included the hospital, anesthesiologist, my DR and some lab. I was in the hospital for 2 nights and the only pain meds was Motrin 800.

Wow! I'm reading all these costs and feel majorly lucky. Mine was only a total of about $17000.00! We ended up paying just about $1700.00 out of pocket. My surgery itself was only 10136.00. The rest was dr, anesthesologist, labs, dr bill, etc. I had a TVH with only an overnight stay. I'm reading these $31000.00 and $26000.00 amounts and completely shocked!

my bills were about $30,000 for tah/bso, including 4 nights in hospital. thank goodness for insurance.

My surgery (LSH/BSO), 1 night stay, drugs, etc was almost $24,000. This does not include the dr or anybody else. My surgery was paid 100% because I met my deductible and out-of-pocket in Aug. from my laparscopy. Good Luck! They charge for the jello and graham crackers you eat while your there!

My TLH was about $14,000. That is for everything including pathology. Mine was done as same day surgery, however I was in a hospital room for about 7 hours.

My TAH/BSO was over twenty two thousand dollars not including the anesthesia or doctor fees. Insurance is a wonderful thing and lucky for me I work at the hospital where I had my surgery so I get a discount, my doctor and the anesthesologist took what the insurance paid and I didn't owe them a thing. All I paid was my $500.00 deductable and that was cool with me.

my bills ran about 15,000$ but my insurance only paid about 7,000 and the hospital waived the rest. I was charged very different prices for services. I was told 6000 a day for the hosp for a hyst, but 3525 a day for the tummy tuck if I was having them done separately. You should ask the hosp about cash rates. I had no idea they existed but they do I guess.
