Sunday so soon, March 25
I'm just getting up to head over to my parents to give dad a shower and make him blueberry pancakes. I'll miss the morning walk since I need to get rolling, and then it gets too hot for my old Buddy to walk during the day, so maybe the next walk will be this evening. We've been very good this weekend, and all this week. that this will continue!
Yesterday was my parents' anniversary and we had a nice lunch and then cake. It was a nice day. Today I will eat a little better once the pancake breakfast is over. Ooops gotta go, my sister is asking LT questions and he doesn't do questions...
Have a delightful day, my BEST friends!!

Good Morning Desk and all that follow today,
I have been up since 5:30 - just couldn't sleep anymore so I have been watching mindless tv - laying around and finally went outside with
Belle and and a cup of tea and just have been enjoying the morning. Today I will continue on my weekend list that I made - don't know if I will finish it or will be working on it along with my list for this week. I do know that the tip off for the UNC game is at 5:05 so that will be dinnertime and a nice long break or something I can do while watching tv.
I am going to do laundry and some ironing - DH is leaving tomorrow morning for a business trip to Maryland - would be nice for him to have some clean clothes.
Check in later.

Good Morning Desk, Ali and Lynn and all who follow later.
Enjoyed our dinner out at Macaroni Grill. Can't say I ate OP (too many carbs) but very nice to see BIL and SIL and their oldest son who lives out of state was a nice surprise!!!
Welcome back, Nancy. Glad you had a good time. I'm sure you got enough walking in to negate any extra eating.
Today I've got a lot of house cleaning to do because we'll be away from home for the next two weekends.
DH wanted to do some yard work but it's raining right now. Which is alright with me...I won't be distracted as I do my housework.
Have a lovely Sunday, everyone stay op and I'll check in later.

Good Morning BESTers
Sorry to have missed you all yesterday. Just had to give the computer a break so I could get some things done. Spend the day running from place to place. Trip w/DD, trip w/DH, then out to a retirement party last night.
Food has not been bad. The luncheon Friday was nice - served a pita sandwhich with marinated baby veggie salad and strawberry cheese cake for dessert. Weather held enought for a short walk on the boards. A bit breezy and cool for me.
Last nights party I was quite good. Drank only a bottle of water - 2 chicken wings, 6 shrimp, and one spoon full (1/3 C ?) of maccroni salad. I did have 2 cookes - the best maccroons I've ever eaten. Home made by one of the officers wives. OMG and I'm not a maccroon fan.
Today is off to the :shot: to stock my house. Will need a hugh cart. I'll stop at the produce outlet to get a bunch of fruits and veggies - they are cheaper usually but in bulk which I don't often do anymore.
Bkft: oatmeal w/raisins, hot tea
rest of today is up in the air till I shop.
PJ - Salads....I love romaine and mix it with fresh spinish (buy spinish in bag-sand free), but sometimes I'll buy the spring mix or other mixes with redecchio (sp) etc...for a nice change of pace. I love to throw colored peppers in, yes yes yes - garbanzo beans (chick peas) at a nice touch esp w/raisins. Make dressings using fresh squeezed lemons whisked with EVOO with touch of origno. Or use a good balsamic vinager w/EVOO and origano. Use any type of salad olives - I love greek olives - you can add roasted pappers, sun dried tomatoes - limited only by your imagination!! I'm not a cilantro fan but I will use a very small bit just for lite taste from time to time.
Llyn - Happy Hysterversary to you yesterday!! Hope you treated yourself to something just for you. Princesses - we're still princesses!
Fran - and today is your Hysterversary! Beat the little buggers away from puter...
Flax seed - I keep saying I'm gonna try it. Just haven't. I have articles that say it's a fantastic thing to incorporate into our daily diets.
Hi's going out to everyone else. I'm keeping up with you all.
OK - got to get moving. is waiting.
M.

 Morning everyone
It's been a busy work week, and this weekend is just what I needed
Yesterday, I went over to a neighbor's house as she was having a jewelry party... and I did treat myself to some nice pieces. Tonight is a jazz concert (Four Play)
We also have DgS over this weekend which is always a nice treat. And, he's such a good eater -- lots of fruits in the house for munching. DH bought him sneakers yesterday... he grew 2 full sizes since the beginning of school It's amazing the growth spurts... he'll probably be taller than me by the end of the year -- tells me that coffee has stunted my growth
Food this week has been good... and water great. Still lacking on the exercise end... but, I did bring my sneakers to work & did get out at lunch time one day this past week. DH & I walked along the river another night. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this week, and I can do that more often.
I think we've decided on a treadmill... it's a Horizon -- and consumer reports gives it good marks. Our neighbor has an earlier model & does lots of running... it seems to hold up with her & her 3 boys & DH use. Dicks had them on sale... hopefully they still are on sale this week.
Desk... glad you got the rest you needed yesterday
Ali / Nancy... glad your trips were good -- always nice to go away, and to come back home.
Lynn... I just love quiet mornings -- don't get them too often around here. How wonderful to have fruit trees & blooms!! Our trees and plants are just starting to bud now.
Nanno... love Macroni Grill -- sooo hard to be good there!!
Yvonne... how did your party go??
Melissa... ahhh... can you stop & pick up a few things for me as well?? Sounds like you've had a great weekend so far!!
Llyn/Fran... happy hysterversaries.
Favorite salad -- to buy is a Greek salad (w/o tomatoes); to make -- love spring mix & spinach -- along with mushrooms, cucumbers, roasted red peppers, artichokes, broccoli and feta cheese. I'll also add low sodium meats/or hard boiled eggs for extra protein. Favorite salad dressing is the lite ones made by Kens.
Ok... I'm outta here -- need to think about getting the guys (DH/DgS) some breakfast.

Hi!
Melissa the little buggers are shoved down a well
I made a mini booboo Llyn's hysterversary is tomorrow, she's the day after me, not the day before darn
Breakfast ~ only found out at 11.30 it was 12.30 as clocks had gone forward, so we had hotdogs (lunch)
Dinner ~ chicken, mash, broccoli, cauli and cabbage, gravy
Took Billy out for 2 walks today, with his new harness. We covered about 3 miles in total on both walks. He's snoozing in my bed now. It's 9.20pm here, and I'm hoping to join him soon!
I'm reading the latest Lisa Gardner book, it's really good. I treated myself to it and a set of 'the closer' dvds for mothers day last weekend in
I only paid £5 for it and it's a hardback. Only downfall is that it hurts if it hits me on the head if I fall asleep reading
Do you remember me telling you a while back about my friend who had high bp and high cholesterol?? She's on a doctor's prescription to the gym now and is actually enjoying it. She has a personal 'trainer/advisor' that she shares with another woman on the same prescription and she has got her enjoying the gym.
I join her on a thurs in the gym, so its good for her and good for me to have company, even though I don't do as much as i would do on my own, as she is limited. It makes me go though, which can only be a good thing.
The weather here has been quite springlike here, its been nice to be able to get out and enjoy. For Billy's second walk, I walked and DD cycled around with me, we'll start to see the benefit of the clocks going forward tomorrow when we're used to the lost hour!
Got to go now and get the kids to bed, they're watching 'that's so raven', and it's almost finished, I will see you all tomorrow! have a lovely day, well evening really!

Hello all,
I am in from supervising DS's raking and trimming trees in the back yard - I love super vising. Still needs alot of work back there. I haven't done alot since my cancer diagnosis so it is looking rather ragged. It needs some major work but no one ever has time. I told my boys (men) that I would treat them to dinner if they would put some time in back there for me. They also layed 4 yards of mulch in my front gardens for me. I wanted them to trim back my confederate jasmine but low and behold it has buds on it and ready to bloom so that will be another day.
Happy Hysterversary Llyn and Fran - celebrate!!!!
Fran - I thought everyone did there clocks at the same time - we did ours three weeks ago. Now the whole world is an hourly mess - no wonder we are all sleepless and tired all the time.
Well since we are eating out (actually ordering out since UNC playing basketball in a short while on TV) I ordered a grilled chicken and shrimp dish with broccoli, cauliflower, zuccini and carrots and a sweet potato. It sounded good on the menu. We'll see.
I will check in later - hopefully I will have good news about UNC.

Trying not to worry...
Hi BEST Sisters,
Today is a sad day for me, my mom is back in the hospital with bowel issues. Severe pain and bleeding. They did a cat scan and said one part is thick, her liver also has blisters on it. This could be from one of her heart meds. They had her on anti-biotics and no food for 2 days, today she got some clear liquids. The biggest concern is "Is it cancer?" she had lung cancer a little over a year ago and had radiation. But, she felt so much better after the anti-biotics, so it is looking like an infection. Please keep her in your prayers, she is 81 and is almost wheel-chair bound, she is fighting and uses a walker but cannot go more than 20 steps without stopping. She wants to live on her own, and not go into a facility yet. I cannot go see her, for fear I would catch something else and not be able to start back on my meds this week.
Brunch: Oatmeal with cinnamon, 2 coffees
Snack: Kashi trail mix bar
Dinner: Taco salad, one shell, a little meat and cheese but lots of veggies on top with chunky sauce
Snack: yogurt
Water, 40 oz by 5 pm. Have 2 more bottles beside me to sip on.
Brian my son went grocery shopping for me, picked up some RX's and got the 2 magnifyers (one is a hand held one and the other is a full sheet). I can even read the phone book !!! My eyes are flaring up because of the arthritis. This should clear up with the meds eventually, but now I have these tools when I need them.
I am going to call my mom again and keep positive and encourage her to do that also. She will have her colonoscopy tomorrow at 10 am. I should know more by Tuesday. She seems happy with my calls, I hope that will keep her spirits up. My brother who lives across the street from her visits daily, he is retired and does a lot of church work, but is her care taker.
For all those 70's fans, I have been singing "Let the sunshine, let the sunshine in.....We had a beautiful day here in central PA. Just ask the dogs.
