Cleared for sex after 4 wks - too soon?

I had a TVH and was told by dr I could have 'gentle' sex after 4 weeks. I have not seen anyone else mention a clearance in only 4 weeks. Has anyone else had clearance so early? How did it go? and how many weeks did you wait before you had 'non-gentle' sex? I am getting more and more nervous as the day comes closer and don't know if I dare do anything... help? Thanks!

I wasn't clear till 8 weeks, but I think the average is probably 6 weeks.

One of the reasons for delaying the "all clear" for some might be healing of additional repairs, i.e. rectocele or cystocele repairs.

Cleared for sex after 4 wks - too soon?

I went in to Doc on Tuesday and got cleared to do what ever I wanted. Yesterday was three weeks! I am a bit scared to try sex yet anyway. My parner is out of town now so I don't have to worry about it yet. But I plan on going slow no matter how long we wait.

Cleared today

I was cleared today by the doc. My husband is out of the country until July, which is kind of a relief.

Cleared for sex after 4 wks - too soon?

My doc said I could in 2 weeks.
Love hubby to death, unless he has ticked me off of course, but I told him don't bet on it.

I had a LSH so the playground wasn't abused but the rest of me is!
I didn't fool around until I got the all clear at 6 weeks when I had my two kids, not gonna risk it too soon.

I was cleared for sex at four weeks and personally myself was definately not ready until six weeks and even then have taken things slowly. I think they seem to forget that we need to be ready emotionally as well as physically. To me it is only normal to be nervous about the first time after surgery especially if sex was painful before surgery. I still find that I tense up expecting it to be painful even though thank goodness it isnt. Just take your time and when you feel ready go for it but don't feel pressured just because the doc said that's it is ok.
All the best.
