Just last saturday I was itching in my vagina I felt like I would rather be in pain then this itching. I called the doctors and left message the told me to get some yeast medicine and if it didn't work come in to the doctor. Well I did the yeast medicine which did not help so went to the doctor gave me some bacterial medicine that was a cream and that helped. Under search type in itch you can find more suggestions

Help Yeast?

i had an infection and terrible itching also around 2 weeks.. i did call dr and i got difulcan(sp) and an external cortisone ointment to apply twice daily.. it was awful... i do believe also i wasn't getting enough estrogen at the time and that worsened the whole episode.. i'm clear now and 5 weeks post -op... i feel for you.. hope you will improve real soon.. are you on any estrogen replacement??

Wow, I didn't think about the estrogen. I have been on Vivelledot until my 2 week. Then thought I'd try a pill since the adhesive irritated my skin. (I've been edgier on the oral HRT, but I thought it was due to the UTI.) BTW UTI is much better, just itchy now. I think I'll put on another patch tomorrow and see if that helps. Thanks so much

depending upon which antibiotics you took for the uti, you could have a yeast infection from the antibiotics - you know, they kill bacteria, good and bad. so, that could explain the yeast infection. i take diflucan when i get a yeast infection, and it always work very well - but you should wait til you're off the antibiotics so it doesn't re-develop. meanwhile, sorry you're feeling itchy! i also had vaginal discomfort because i wasn't taking enough estrogen, and when the dosage was increased, the discomfort went away.

Help Yeast?

I also had a yeast infection a couple of weeks after and got the prescription for diflucan. I've had a couple of times since where it was starting to get itchy, but I think it was just external, bacteria infections. I used OTC cream and that took care of it.

One thing weird I've noticed is I get this tingly, almost-itchy, but not quite sure if it really is feeling once in awhile. I don't know what that's all about and I'm not sure if I should call the dr about it or not. It's more of an annoyance and only lasts a minute or two. I have no idea what it is, but it feels really weird. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I always ask for diflucon when I'm prescribed antibiotics.(I know that doesn't help you now but maybe next time.) I very rarely use it but its nice to know its there. I am flirting with the idea to have it filled but I'm not sure it is yeast. I'll have to look into the possibility of low estrogen. I kept both my ovaries but I have been very weepy for a couple of weeks.

I also suggest diflocam. I developed a yeast infection around week three, after taking antibiotics for a bladder infection.

I always get a yeast infection after antibiotics, and in the past had used the OTC creams, but after having a diflocam experience I swear that I'll never use the creams again. My yeast infection was gone within 24 hours, and it was an awesome experience. I'm going to ask for a prescription for diflocam any time I go on antibiotics in the future, that way at the first sign of the yeast infection I can take the pill (after finishing the antibiotics) and have that taken care of.

I wish diflocam was over the counter, since it's so much better than all the other OTC options.
