Post-op swelling/appetite

Hello,
I want to say what a great resource this has been, THANK YOU to everyone who has been a part of making this site so wonderful. I didn't find ithe HysterSisters until after my surgery but it has been a great source of support for me. I was 8 wks post-op in Mar. 28.
At my 2 wk post-op check up I was told I has several small fibroids inside the uterus (which we knew from an ultrasound), one large fibroid (as the dr. said: looked like a Sputnik) on the outside of the uterus and endometriosis (which we didn't know I had). I feel better now than I have in the past 4 years. I have a great support system from my husband to my sister that enabled me to recover quickly!
Now that I have rambled on..... I have a couple of questions. 1. I am noticing that even though I had a great surgery and awesome recovery (went back to work 2 wks post-op) I seem to still feel like I swell up like a balloon by the end of the day. How long can I expect the swelling to be a part of my life? I know my body is still recovering - as it reminds me when I overdue my daily activities. 2. Did anyone else experience a huge change in appetite? I am just curious if anyone else at 8 wks had the same thing and how long it lasted for her.
Thanks again for creating this fantastic site and all the courageous women who share their thoughts and experiences here! God Bless!

Post-op swelling/appetite

Welcome to our group! :friend;

Many women find that they have swelling for quite some time after their hyst. It can take six months to a year to be completely healed. You can talk to your doctor about what a normal time frame would be for you.

And many of us find we have a change in appetite. Some find they are hungrier and eat more, others of us could care less about ever eating as we are not hungry and nothing tastes right. This should clear up with time as well.

Know that you are not alone and what your are experiencing, many other women have experienced as well!

Many best wishes to you!
