Bowel Prep Question ????

HI..........
I am having a colonoscopy today at noon so of course HAD to do the wonderful prep yesterday and last night.(My gyno wants to be sure GI/Colon is fine)

What are the chances of having to do this again for the actual surgery ????? I see some ladies do it and some do not. I am having an AH.......Thats about all I know.

That drink was disgusting and to make matters worse I am allergic to sacchrin/artificial sweetner and the flavor packets are made of that so I had to drink it raw

Bowel Prep Question ????

Kathim,

I hope your colonoscopy goes well, and shows nothing of concern.

You will need to ask your Dr about whether or not he wants a bowel prep before surgery. I didn't have to have one, but it is up to each individual Dr, the type of surgery, and your health.

If you have to do it again, you might ask if you can mix it with something that you are allowed to have.

and Best Wishes,
Kay

Bowel Prep Question ????

Hey, Kathim, I have a colonoscopy today too! I was surprised at how awful the bowel prep was. I didn't have to drink the phospho stuff, I just had to take 20 laxitives in 24 hours. The cramping was terrible. This morning I have to do 2 enemas, and I go in at 10. I'm feeling okay this morning, but hungry. Luckily, I don't have to do this pre-op, because that's Monday, and I really don't want to start bowel prep over again tomorrow night!!! Yikes!

Good luck on your c-scope!
