Menopause & aging

I will have both overies removed so I will go straight into menopause, do you think that doing it this way makes you age faster? I am only 27 but feel 47 and was just wondering if I will see a difference as in looking older than I really am from hitting meno & starting the hormones instantly?

Menopause & aging

Hi,

I had both ovaries removed, am older than you and other than some weight gain, people have told me since surgery that I look better.

Probably due to not having all those terrible periods that were draining me.

I wish you all the best with your surgery.

Menopause & aging

I'm not far enough along to know for myself, but my mother had both ovaries removed in her mid thirties and remained youthful and beautiful well past all of her friends who had ovaries. She always looked much younger than she was and maintained young skin and a great body. She started getting wrinkles in her mid 60's. I hope that I do as well as that.

Menopause & aging

THANKS!!! I was hoping for that answer, since I have had this pain since I was 16 years old (after my first child), I hope to look as young as I am & feel my age as well instead of feeling so much older from hurting all the time.
Pre-op appt in an hour, will repost when I arrive home, BF is taking me shopping for clothes today
