HysterSisters Team – 2007 Walk for the Whisper – National Ovarian Cancer Coalition

The 7th annual "Walk for the Whisper" will take place on Saturday, September 29th in Grapevine, Texas, starting from Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine. The DFW-NOCC Walk for the Whisper is an annual 5K Walk/Fun Run designed to promote awareness of ovarian cancer. This walk/run will coincide with the Texas Legislature's resolutions declaring September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in Texas.

Ovarian cancer is the 5th leading cause of cancer related deaths among women. 1 in 98 women will die from this disease as 75% are not diagnosed until they are in advanced stages. If caught in the early stages, the five year survival rate is over 90%, while the survival rate for those diagnosed in advanced stages is as low as 29%. There is no set screening for this disease; therefore, symptoms may go undiagnosed until it is too late. Whether you already have ovarian cancer, know someone who does, or have been fortunate thus far to not be touched by this disease, knowledge about the disease is a powerful tool for you.

The HysterSisters.com is organizing a team for the DFW Walk. We are asking you to join us.

Here are the steps you need to take to participate with the team:

1. Fill out the attached “Team Registration Form”
2. Collect donations – your goal is $150.
3. Turn in your

4. Receive your “Walk Packet” containing your Hystersisters team T-shirt and the Walk T-shirt at 8:00 AM @ Baylor Regional Medical in Grapevine at the designated Team location. (More info later)

I'm in so it may be wishful thinking... but I would love to meet my ((((sisters)))) and this is a cause close to my as my grandmother lost her battle to OVCA. So it's a big maybe for me.

I'd love to make this trip and walk with my cyber sisters. It's on my calendar, but I can't make definite plans this far out. I'm anxiously awaiting the details. I'll know more when it gets a couple of months closer.

I live in Little Elm, TX and would love to do this. I have my TVH on April 23rd so I'm sure I'll be in good spirits. I look forward to it and to meeting all you wonderful ladies!
