Lower abdominal pain at 3 years post-op

I know im way past post, my hysterectomy was 3 years ago but i have a question 2 1/2 years ago i started to have alot of pain from my belly button down. (had a supracervical hysterectomy) and the pain just wont go away but doctors cant find anything wrong. Has anyone experienced any pain like this? one doctor told me i had IBS and thats where the pain is coming from but i can go to the bathroom and still the pain doesnt go away i have it all the time. and the more i move around or bend the pain gets sharper. Im so sick of being in pain with no help of relieving it. I hope someone else has had this problem and can help me.

Hi Acanfield3 and

We're happy you joined the Hystersisters community. I had a different type of hysterectomy than you did, and I can't offer any similar experiences, but my general thoughts are: If someone is in chronic pain and a doctor's diagnosis and prescribed treatment doesn't alleviate the pain, then I think it's best to search for another physician who practices in a specialty area. For example, you might ask your family physician for a referral to a doctor who specializes in "pelvic pain issues," or however you best feel your condiditon can be described.

I hope you soon find a medical provider who can help. I'm sending positive thoughts your way!

Many s and Best Wishes,
