help and advice needed..... please

i am new to this site but trying to navigate through all the info about hysterectomies is a mine field !!!
i am 37 years old and have suffered years !! from fibroids, heavy and very painful periods, several miscarriages... and the mirena coil.
i have a 4 and half year old son, and can not take all the problems anymore.... i am going to see my consultant on the 18th of may and will be begging for a hysterectomy.... i have asked in the past (after my son) but was refused due to my age and that i might have more kids (no chance).
i just want to know more about how it will effect me... will it stop the pain every month... obviously the bleeding will go... but will it also help hormonally !!
do you still get PMT as such does the water retention still happen...
i just can not continue as i am my life stops for 2 weeks a month and i can not take any more.....
have tried ablation (did not work) i have tried mirena coil (horrific!!) ....... is hysterectomy the best thing for me ??????

Hello unicorn2070! I'm sorry you are having these issues and do hope you'll get some help from the consultant when you see him/her in May.
There are a lot of resources on this site and after some practice you'll be able to navigate it better.
It's a huge decision to make and you're young but if it's going to help your health by having the op then it might be a wise choice. In the end only you can decide.
Try to learn as much as possible and make a list of questions to ask the Dr at the appointment.
Good luck. Love and peace
