Still Swelly Belly at 8 wks post op???

Hellow sisters - just wanted to ask a quesiton. My swelly belly is better, but not gone. The one thing I have noticed is it is hard. My belly is a hard belly. Not like an overweight belly that if you push with your finger it indents, it does not indent.
It is hard and still tender to the touch, and yes, it gets worse as the day progresses.
Normal or not????
Thanks - Zella

Still Swelly Belly at 8 wks post op???

Thinking this must be normal. I am 7 wks post-op and have been wondering this as well. I had a TAH on March 7th. My tummy is numb to the touch from my navel to my incision but can feel the hardness and tenderness whenever I lean against something with my belly. This also gets worse as the day goes on and some days I can't even stand to have my jeans on. My incision still gets real tender or raw feeling.

freedomlady07 - I can't even get my jeans on yet! Standing near the sink to wash dishes - I can not lean against the sink... I hope we hear that this is normal cause I don't like it. I am thinking it feels like a pregnant belly...how terrible would that be, kind of a smack in the face, a hyst with a belly that feels pregnant!

zellabella- OMG.....LOL, that would be horrible. I am sure this will get better. My doctor told me internal stitches could take up to 75 days to completely heal. Thats what I'm looking forward to. And the jeans I fit into are only the "fat" jeans I still keep for those days when nothing else works. Keep in touch!!
