Muscle & Joint soreness

I am 4 wks postop had everything removed which put me into surgical menopause. I have been having muscle and joint soreness everyday. Kinda feels like you do when you have the flu achy. Could this be due to menopause? Has anyone else had this problem?

Muscle & Joint soreness

Jennie, I didn't have any problems with my joints before my TAH/BSO but now wake up with knee pain and general joint pain. I read in one of the threads a while ago that other women have it also and wonder if it's hormone related. I don't know but it seems to go away as soon as I am active. I wondered if it was from the general anestiegia as my doc said it can take up to a year to get it out of your body.

Muscle & Joint soreness

Thank you for your reply. I have had knee pain for quiet some time from an old injury and 4 surgeries but my muscle pain doesn't seem to go away no matter how active I am. I was thinking it was hormonal related also since it just started about a week ago.

(((Jen)))) I'm sorry you're dealing with all this pain

About a year and half post-hyst, I started having joint pains that can be just annoying to preventing me from doing things as simple as opening a door Over the years, I've had a number tests all coming back negative. My doctor tells me that it's arthitic pain.

While sometimes being moderately active will help relieve the pain, during a major flare-up, exercise will just make it worse

DoIt would be a good idea to mention these pains to your doctor to ensure that you are effectively diagnose... and because it may be relatively simple to get the relief you deserve

Muscle & Joint soreness

At one point I experienced joint pain post-op and found there are others who have this.

I had problems with my knees but at one point it was much worse post-op. I also felt pain in other joints a well. After concentrating on my diet and trying to eat healthier and being more consistent with my vitamins, the joint pain went away or diminished (my knee problems still exist but I know this is due to pre-existing knee problems).

Best Wishes
