sore breasts after recent mammo

I had my yearly mamo the first week of April. The new digital equipment machine really hurt this time! My report came back that they wanted to do another mammogram and I called my Doc and she said the report said there were "nodules"...that exam is still two weeks from now. I am wondering if the achy pain I feel is because I am really nervous this time around to get a call back or from the machine itself. I have greatly reduces my patch dose and now am on .50 V Dot.....I am so active on the farm taking care of all of the horses solo and doing lots of lifting and chores...I am confused if I am getting enough estrogen now....I guess I am just feeling scared about the call back....but my breasts weren't this sore before the mammo!

I'm sorry you are feeling so much discomfort after the mammogram. Some years I am sorer than other years. I don't know if it's the way they do the test, the machine or just me. Best wishes on your follow up. I hope everything will be all clear.

Thanks Kim for your kind words. The last couple of days I have been wearing a sports bra and not my usual underwire bras and it has helped ease some of the pain. I am anxious to get my follow up exam behind me. Thanks again!

sore breasts after recent mammo

Hi gardengal,

I recently had a mammogram too. I felt discomfort for about three days from the compression. I had never felt discomfort with my prior mammogram. I think for me it was the level of compression and I also didn't wait until after that time of the month. I wonder if a heating pad would help you ..set on low?

Wishing you well with your followup.

follow up today

I had my follow up today. More compression views and an ultra sound of my right breast. They want me to have an MRI of my right breast in a month. They suspect cysts in the milk ducts and are 95% sure they are benign. They want me to stop my HRT cold turkey in preparation for the MRI. Something about getting a better picture of the area and seeing what will happen with the dye they will inject me with for the procedure and not having hormones interfere with the results. I am optomistic at this point.
So I am going off my vivelle patch.....this will be weird for me.
