baby after adenocarcinoma

Hi, I was just wondering if there was anyone who has had a successful pregnancy after cervical adenocarcinoma insitu or stage 1a1. Has anyone had a trachelectomy?

baby after adenocarcinoma

Hi Sharona,

I had a trachelectomy for stage 1 adenocarcinoma, with no further treatment. I had two chemical pregnancies after the trachelectomy, and we stopped trying after four months of fertility treatments. I have read every academic paper on pregnancy after trachelectomy that I could find on Medline. There are varying success rates, and the risk for a late-term miscarriage are quite high. That said, there have been many successful pregnancies, as well. We ultimately decided to adopt our son instead of continuing to try for pregnancy, although the reasons for that were not necessarily related to the trachelectomy.

Best of luck to you in this process.
