Anyone feel like they are going to jump out of their skin?

I am 15 days post op TVH and I am a nervous wreck this morning. I had a pretty good weekend, and now this morning I feel like I am going to jump right out of my skin. I am crying, I feel nervous and jumpy, and I wish I wasn't alone right now. It's all I can do to keep from calling my husband and telling him to come home from work and stay with me. I am on Ativan twice a day to keep me from having panic attacks, and it usually calms me down pretty well. Doesn't seem to be working this morning though...I don't feel like I am going to have a panic attack, just jittery...maybe my ovaries are waking up or something, I don't know. All I do know is that I don't like feeling like this, and I am so tired of crying. Can anyone relate?

Anyone feel like they are going to jump out of their skin?

Hi siamouno, You're not alone. I am 4 days post op from a lapro/vag hyster. ovaries too.(I don't know all of the abbrev.) I am home alone too, nervous & just counting the days until I can get out of here. Have you tried going on a walk outside? I know we're not alone in that everyone that I've talked to has said that their hyster. was the best thing ever. I hope I eventually feel that way too. Take care.

Anyone feel like they are going to jump out of their skin?

This is just so awful to go through. I have been having bad perimenopausal symptoms since I was 43...then I had this emergency hysterectomy 15 days ago and everything is soooooo much worse. Tomorrow is my 51st birthday and my daughter is taking me out for the day and I want to enjoy it, but I am so afraid I will feel like this again tomorrow and not be able to even enjoy my birthday. Yesterday my husband took me to lunch and I got a hot flash...a bad one and it lasted the whole time we were in the restaurant....actaully while he was waiting for the check I left and went to the car...I was so hot I had to get out of there...every day brings something new since my surgery. I never know what kind of day I am going to have.

your TOTALLY normal

Hi there,
first off, take 3 deep breaths..... you're not alone in this we're here to support you. 15 days after major surgery is a very short time to think about getting out and around. Just like me, you're expectations are a little high. I remember being where you are now thinking when will I feel normal again? For me it took a while. I really relied on this site, friends and family to get me through. I was 28 when it happened and was in full menopause before I came home from the hospital. When you see your doc next ask them about some form of hormone treatment, whether that be a patch, pills or something naturel like evening primrose tea, black cohosh etc. I found this treatment to take the edge off huge! Just remember you don't have to worry about what is going on tommorrow, you just have to get through today and if that is too overwhelming just try to get through the next 30 seconds. Panic attacks are VERY common and I understand, remember you're normal. I'll be poking about for the next while so send me a private message if you need and ear (or I guess in this case an eye!!!)
hugs
