What was Laproscopic surgery like.....

PoohBear, I didn't walk straight up and down until in between day 2 and 3. That was only if I had a pillow held to my tummy as I walked. The gas is completely gone! Yeah! Now I'm awaiting the bm. Ug! Will it ever come!?! I'm thinking about going and getting some starbucks... that always gets my system moving in the right direction! haha! Sorry to hear they were so mean to you in the hospital!

I remember when I was awake enough man my mouth was dry! They gave me crackers and sprite and it seemed like the combination stuck to the top of my mouth regardless of the amount of sprite I drank!

I'm sure by tomorrow you'll feel like a new person! It's amazing how much you heal each day! I'll be praying for you and the other sisters as well! Hope the gas doesn't give you much more problems!

Keep me posted on your progress as well!

What was Laproscopic surgery like.....

Bluesteyesntx, Today is 2nd full day of being home. I can walk a little more upright but not much. The gas is still driving me crazy. Pepsi has become my new best friend. It is not getting stuck in so many places which is good but I just want it gone! I too am awaiting bm. My Mom went out and bought me Docolax. I took two lastnight and will take it each day so when I do I won't strain at all, it is a stool softner. The pain is still quite intense because I have not had the relief since the surgery. I am trying to hang in but maybe a call to the dr. is soon needed. I have been using a heating pad for my back, it is killing me. I have been using more of my back muscles to get up than my tummy. They gave me crackers and ginger ale too and it just became paste in my mouth. Not too smart on their part. I am praying tomorrow is a lot better! Thanks for your prayers! I am sending lots your way. Let me know how everything continues to progress. I have to go wash my sites now, the warm water is going to do wonders.

What was Laproscopic surgery like.....

I had exploratory April 13th to why I was in so much pain. Cranberry juice helped fight off bladder infections from the cath. Green tea and small trips around the house helped the gas along with keeping my feet up when I rested. Take the recommened softner by the doctor, my dh thought any laxative would work, it did but was very hard on my stomach and made me sick, trust me on this. I was back at work five days. Your belly button will be tender so if you wear jeans (like I had to) you might want to use a bandaide to protect it until it feels better. As my 70 year old girlfriend said to me
  Quote:
belly bottons are not meant for surgery just delicate kisses
.;0). You will be fine, talk with your anth. about any concerns before hand like nausea and you will be good.
