Climara to Premarin?
I am almost 6 weeks out .
I have been using the Climara Patch and have been doing well with it. No hot flashes, etc.
The problem is that the patch just does not stick....it bubbles up, etc. I have taped it down, tried everything. I called the doctor and he is putting me on Premarin Oral 1.25.
Has anyone gone from patch to pill? Climara to Premarin?
I am nervous about side effects. I realize that estrogen is not all the same. I guess that is why I am worried.
I don't know what to expect and since things have been going well so far, I am afraid that the switch will mess things up. I go back to work on Monday and the last thing I need is a bunch of side effects to kick in just then.
Any advice? Anyone in the same situation as me?
Thanks.

Climara to Premarin?
Do you make sure your skin is good and dry with no lotion or powder on it before you apply it? Do you rub it on really good? Do you put it on fatty place, like where they show in the picture that's in the box? Is it the real Climara or generic? I have heard the generics don't stick well.
Sorry I'm not in the same boat, but I hope you don't have any ill effects from switching.
I love my patch. I am on the 5th one now. I have had 1 come off but it came off the night before I was supposed to put on a new one.

Climara to Premarin?
Hi
I switched from Climara to Premarin very early post-op because I was an emotional wreck - not because the Climara didn't stick for me. I felt very balanced on the Premarin and stayed with it for 2.5 years but I've recently moved away from it because of other health concerns - recent lab work showed my lipids through the roof and a C-reactive protein 3x normal. I don't know that Premarin is to blame - but a change is in order to see if my labs might improve. It's hard to move away from something that felt right, so I can understand your frustration about giving up on the Climara when it seemed to be working for you.
Hope you get things worked out with the patch or do well with the switch.
 s,
Beth

Climara to Premarin?
Did you try tegaderm over the Climara patch? It is a clear, thin covering or bandage so to speak that you can purchase behind the pharmacy counter at Walmart. I would give that a try before making the switch. I can almost guarantee the patch will stick with the tegaderm. A lot of the ladies here use this. Also, the Vivelle dot is another patch and sticks very well. You do have options other than going to Premarin.
