Unhappy - When will I get to feeling like me me me When will I get to feeling like me me me

At first I thought I was going crazy until I found this website and I actually knew there were people in the same boat. I had a total hyster on 9/11/06 at age 34, (had fibroids) & I have had my hormones changed 3 times (not including my call to obgyn today). How long is this going to take to get it right? Oh yeah and did I mention that I quit smoking after 22 years on Jan. 30, 2007, and that made my symptoms worse? I am so tired of feeling tired, crazy, angry, anxious, murderous, bloated, overwhelmed, etc. I have changed so much since then. My family thinks i've lost my mind (their right). I hear stories of people saying that they feel so much better now. The only time I felt better was 2 weeks after surgery and I was still in pain. I'm a mess. Can someone please give me pointers and tell me how I am going to get thru this.
Thanks for letting me vent!!

When will I get to feeling like me me me

Hi

I'm so sorry that you are feeling so bad right now. I'm assuming that you also had your ovaries out, but if I'm wrong then let me know.

Finding that "balance" in HRT can be quite tricky. More so for some of us than others. The last change that you made, did you increase something or decrease something. You don't say what your are using, so it is kind of hard to take a guess at what might help you.

If you could reply with what you started at and what changes have been made and when, that would help us help you a little better.

Another thing to think of, is the possibility of getting another opinion from a Dr who might be more knowledgeable about HRT. I know my surgeon gave all her patients the same HRT. I had to find another Dr who understood that we all have different needs. Both Dr's are excellent in their field, just have interests in different areas.

Hang in there. It took me 1 1/2 years to find somewhat of a balance. Your looking for answers, that is a great place to start. Also, let me congratulate you on being able to stop smoking . That is such a big step in the right direction towards overall health.

s,
Kay

When will I get to feeling like me me me

Good for you for quitting smoking! I also quit 3 months ago, and I did experience hormonal imbalance symptoms for awhile.....hotflashes, night sweats, etc. I think our bodies become more sensitive to any kind of change after we have this surgery and rely on hormone replacement to keep us in balance. At least I feel that's been true for me.

If you haven't already, you might read some of the Hormone Jungle Articles There is a lot of information there about hormone choices and issues. I would recommend that you share some of what you learn from those with your doctor and see if he will be your partner in helping you get on the right track. We are all so different when it comes to this Jungle, and it can take some time to find what works best for you.

in there!

jlynntifton, I know how you feel. Set down with your husband and talk to him about how your feeling and how you cannot help it. Your body is going thru alot right now as is mine and my mom has helped me talk with my husband about it also. Tell him you really need him right now and to help you talk to your kids. My obgyn told me that it could be 6 months to a year before I feel better. I am on anxiety pills and they are helping me get thru the bad times so you might want to call your dr. I have made it 7 months and you can to.

When will I get to feeling like me me me

Kay M, Thank you for making me feel better. I did have my ovaries out. Right now I am on Estradiol 1 mg (generic for Estrace). After my surgery I was on Premarin .5 mg but I had to switch because they were a little pricey. My obgyn just put me on Effexor XR and Tanxene for anxiety Wednesday and it is helping. It is really helping me when I read everyone's blogs.

Thank you for answering my blog it is nice to have people to talk to about this.
