DH's most FAVORITE Brownies!
1 pound caramels (unwrap them all)
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 box chocolate cake mix
1 and 1/2 sticks butter (melted)
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and butter a 9x13 baking pan.
Melt caramels together with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Set aside.
Combine cake mix (with remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk) and the butter. The dough will be thick.
Press half the dough onto the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 5 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the dough, then top with the caramel sauce.
Tear apart remaining pieces of cake batter mixture and drop on top of the caramel layer.
Bake 15 minutes.
Cool and cut into 1 inch squares.
