Question - 2 years post tah 2 years post tah

Well ladies, I'm exactly 2 years post tah with one ovary remaining. I'm having hot flashes and joint pain. The problem is that I have a blood clotting disorder and am unsure whether I'm a candidate for hormone replacement(I doubt it). Anyone with similar issues???

Oh (((KPR))))) I'm sorry you're dealling with these issues. As I am also going through peri-menopause and know just how frustrating it can be

While I do not have a known blood clotting disorder, there is a big family history of strokes and my father died from a pulmonary embolism, so it's a mighty concern for me. I also don't know if i'll ever be able to use HRT

Still, it would be a good idea to discuss this with your doctor: he/she will be in a good position to provide guidance and, hopefully, will have some solutions for you

I'm so totally out of the loop now on estrogen as well. I had been trying vaginal estrogen which seems the least invasive as I had migraines on everything else. Well I had a migraine the day I put in the Estring vaginal ring and now 3 days later had another migraine with nothing going on except left over Estring residual?? in me. Luckily I had a Maxalt (migraine abortive) and was able to dispell it quickly. There are so many things for HRT replacement at least. Please ask your doc for other options if you aren't allowed. Many women here use anti-deps as they quell the hot flashes and may help your dizzy spells. Also the dizzy spells could be from high blood pressure and some anti-deps do both. Some docs use just high blood pressure meds for hot flashes. I'm sure there are more options as well so please don't worry.
Hope you feel better soon,
Tara
