Cool - ..embarrassing 3 yrs post op ..embarrassing 3 yrs post op

Well... am I getting old?
I decided to surf the net and diagnose myself as after three requests, my doctor wouldn't check my vagina : ( I knew something wasn't right.
So I've diagnosed a Enterocele. Most of my life I've diagnosed myself and told the doctors, who after tests, agree with my diagnosis...darn.
Sometimes I can't even push my thin applicator in my vagina to insert the estrogen (can't take HRT). The doctor wasn't concerned : ( time to get a new doctor.
When I have sex my vagina, to put it gently, is like a dry swimming pool. My partner says he can't even feel the sides : ( so of course, there goes our sex life.
Though when I'm constipated I can't even insert the applicator...gees.
So... I'll do those pesty exercises to strengthen my vagina wall and see another doctor.
Plus I have to lose weight. I was 99 kilos now 78 with 8 at least to go.
Where's there's life there's hope : )

Hi!

I'm sorry that you're having problems this far post-op. I know how hard it can be to find a doctor who will listen and take concerns seriously. I hope you can find a doctor who will help you with your current problems. In the meantime, you'll get support here in the Pelvic Floor and Bladder Issues forum from others who can relate.

MySweet,
I certainly wouldn't call 50 being old! I would push to see a specialist, sounds like you may also have a rectocele too if putting in the applicator is that hard when your bowel is full. The only advice other than seeing another doctor is to make sure you get plenty of fiber in your diet and drink lots of water - I also take colace to make sure I am soft back there. You don't want to push to empty. Hugs! Please keep us updated as to how you are doing. I know you want to lose weight, but I sincerely doubt that will fix your problems. Hugs again.

You don't say what kind of Dr. you have that won't check your vagina, but if it's an internist, I'm not surprised. My GP won't touch my womanly parts, and that's okay by me!

Can you get checked by a gyn, or optimally by a uro/gyn? It definitely sounds like you've got something going on that needs to be checked.

I also agree with Bowlinggrl's suggestion of more fiber. You don't want to strain and make it worse.

Here's a for you and hopes you find the right Dr. soon.

Wink - ..embarrassing 3 yrs post op blessings to you

Thank you all for your kind messages. At the moment I have a more pressing health matter... darn. So I'm going to postpone seeing a gyny or anyone over my women's probs.

I agree with the eat healthier and drink more water part, thank you. All my life I've been constipated and now I don't have a choice but to eat healthy. I'm in Australia so colace isn't familiar and I have IBS so I'm surfing the net and learning about colace. Softeners can hurt so I usually can't take them (after taking them too much tho life). Apples and vegetables daily are great... I'd rather cake though 8 )

Did I mention I'm petrified of hospitals, doctors and operations? Once, in hospital, the nurses would follow me to the loo as mentally I fall apart big-time with the thought of an operation... sooo let's pretend there's nothing wrong down there : ) I'm not one for denial or procrastinating though I just need to tackle one thing at a time and the other thing is more scary... for now.

My doctor (who wouldn't check) was just an ordinary doctor though I relied upon her for advice, check-ups and medication before the hyst. I think I definitely have a rectocele though, lol, when I stop pigging out with nerves I'm going to lose weight! At least I am walking more : ) and eating mostly healthy and definitely doing those feminine exercises.

Thank you for caring, may our heavenly Father smile gently upon you for your kindness.
