Tired 5 weeks post op

Hi Everyone. Haven't poosted but have been reading since my LavH, total hysterectomy April,17th. I've been doing a lot in the last week and not always getting enough sleep. I start back to work tomorrow. Is anyone else TIRED? Some days I feel great and then "collapse" late afternoon/early evening, other days I just wake up tired. Is anyone else having these "good and bad" days???

You betcha!

I had the exact same procedure on the 18th of april. Well I additionally had a full tummy tuck too and bladder biopsy, but I have just started feeling pretty human in the last 4-5 days. I mean enough to want to actually do something besides sleep., lol I only seem to be able to go for a few hours and I need to sit down and rest a bit. I don't think this is anything unexpected. I dont' go back to work until june 6th so i'm hoping I'll have more stamina by then. I have begun a walking program and have to push a little more each day to gain that strength back, Good luck and don't be so hard on yourself. If you need to rest, then rest. Trust me everything will be waiting for you when you're rested

Sll957-I appreciate the support. it helps knowing that others feel the same way. I started walking a couple of weeks ago and today walked more than 2 miles. I had been walking, at a rapid pace,2-3 miles a day for years- before the hyster- I think I overdid it. I've been walking at a slower pace. Oh ****! I wish I would just get back to normal a little more quickly. Patience is not one of my virtues. Hope you're on the mend as well!

Tired 5 weeks post op

I had my hyst on April 17. I was so scared to go back to work but after 3 weeks I did. What I noticed was that after getting up and going I seemed to have more energy then when I was at home. Granted, I still go to bed early and if I stand too long my back will still hurt but as far as energy goes, mine seemed to really improve when I got back to my old routine. For me, staying home has always made me feel lethargic so I am glad I got back out there when I did.

Good luck!!
