biest jel better than cream or pills?

Sumantra, I am not a physician or pharmacist but I do take Bi-Est and can tell you that my prescription is 80%estriol and 20% estradiol . From what I have seen this is pretty standard dosing.. Is it possible for your pharmacist to call your doctor and see if this is how he wanted it prescribed? Doctors are human and do make mistakes. Usually the pharmacist can call and get it straightened out fairly easily. Could also be a reason that he wanted you on the higher dose of estradiol. I would either have pharmacist call or give doc a call yourself and see why it was prescibed that way.... Be gentle

biest jel better than cream or pills?

Sumatra,
I don't know that one way is exactly better than the other, it is a matter of what works best for you. I am reading a book about hormones written by a Dr Reiss and he mentions the gel alot throughout the book. This particular doctor seems to prefer the gel. I am using the creams and am not having any problems with them. JMHO it is a matter of personal preference and performance.

I think the gel is just fine but I don't think it will last 24 hours. The only reason I'm saying that is because I'm unaware of a gel that will do that (and I don't know everything). I have heard that the hormones are going to absorb no matter what kind of cream or gel you put them in. It's just that some of the bases can slow down the absorption more than others. What will determine the absorption will be your body.

I'm wondering if he's using a PLO gel that compounders use for very fast absoption. You can use this gel for hormones but women typically don't like the feel of it. Plus it can be absorbed too quickly. I am interested in knowing what he's using because I may be missing out on a good gel! But you know, at the last compounding seminar I went to they were talking about a new base they were working on. Hmmmm.....maybe that's it.

So after all that rambling, the gel is fine. I don't think any base is superior to another. let us know how you do.

But do check on those dosages. Sounds like the doctor could've gotten reversed.
