'Three Week Wall'??

I have been extremely fortunate so far with my recovery from tvh and bladder repair. My surgery was 6-6 and I feel very good--never had any real soreness or many gas pains. My question is what to expect in the future. I have read on this site about hitting a 3 week wall, which is coming up soon for me. Would someone who experienced a good recovery and then had this happen please respond. I appreciate all of you very much. Thanks

'Three Week Wall'??

I had the three week wall at about a week and a half. Since I rested and was a very good princess (and had uncomplicated surgery), the wall was just about being very tired. I slept a lot more and cut out my walks. I wasn't sore at all. If you're being a good princess and haven't let your smooth recovery trick you into lifting or overactivity, you may have a mellow little wall, too.

Judyray...

At three weeks the anesthesia is really leaving your system and you begin to 'feel' your surgery more than before. I hit the wall with hormone stuff , too. The patch the Dr. put me on to get me over the surgical menopause hump was not agreeing with me at all!

Many sisters say they just feel more tired and cranky. It would be good to plan on a week on the couch! All those internal stitches are starting to disolve and the ligaments and muscles are beginning to knit. You might feel achy and have some twinges.

This is your only chance to heal the right way! Drink lots of water to flush the toxins. Be a pampered Princess and rest!

'Three Week Wall'??

Mine arrived at week 2 1/2. I was feeling so good I was working out along with Sit and Be Fit--and exercise program for the elderly on a local educational station.

The next day I started spotting as the stitches dissolved and continued off and on to week 7 or so. The sproinges and twinges showed up and stayed off and on actually until month 8 (if I suddenly pushed myself more). I felt a lot more tired. A lot more uncomfortable (not pain, just twingey). It scared me enough I went on the web and found HysterSisters--Almost two years ago!! When there was just one small free board. But I digress.

Some people don't get it. But it's extremely common.

'Three Week Wall'??

I was SO afraid of that "3 week wall" - I refused to do anything my third week. Now - at 4 1/2 weeks - I have a tiny amount of muscle pulls and aches. It feels just like the stitches have dissolved and my muscles are taking over. Tiredness hasn't been a problem for me since I got off the pain pills. But the crabbies - look out!!
