Nebraska is home now.

Hi everyone,

And when I thought this site couldn't get any better I found sisters from my home state (Michigan) and sisters from my new home (Nebraska).

I live on a farm near Orchard in Northeast NE. Today I was dragging, literally, the lawn tractor to the other part of the yard for watering thinking that in two weeks I won't be able to do this. Hmmm, strange.

Hope all others of you are staying above water, know I've been praying for you with this CRAZY spring!

To all my Big Red Hyster Sisters,
I had my TAH (kept ovaries) 5 weeks ago in Spain where I live. I'm a Gothenburg farm girl, although have lived in Lincoln and UNL grad. (son lives there) and Omaha (2 daughters live there). It's been fun reading your notes. Believe me, if I can get through it in a foreign country you will all do fine. A friend of mine in Lincoln has hers today and the hospitial offers manicures and massages! Wow.

I also had horrid PMS and clotting so once all my aches and pains are gone from the surgery I look forward to four "good" weeks a month rather than one or maybe two.

Don't overdo it after please. It really is OK is sit around and do nothing for weeks, although I am even dreaming of cleaning and working!

Wow Sue. HOW did you get from Gothenburg to Spain?! I give you a lot of credit, don't know if I could have a surgery overseas, but I know lots of people do.

Those of you with your surgeries coming up - you'll do fine. I really do feel so much better! Take advantage of the break from housework! I did, but I feel like I'm still catching up! LOL

Lorz7

Lorz7,
I hope all is well since your surgery. Remember to do what your dr. tells you and all will be fine. Don't overdue it!!!
Keep in touch when you are able. It has been almost a year for me and I must say it was the best thing I have ever done. I feel so much better. I have so much more energy. Good luck. Bus_Lady.

Anyone from NE?!

Tanya,
My firstborn, a son, was born in North Platte in 1983! I have relatives there. We are missionaries (supported by the Berean churches). I have another appt. tomorrow as I seem to have developed a seroma and have this awful hard lump above my incision. Thankfully I have a great gyno here who will take care of it. I just hope I can travel to Switzerland in 5 weeks for a conference.

Sue - 51 , TAH 5/28/08, kept ovaries

Sue,

What is 'seroma'?

Having a hyst. in a different country, was the experience (surgery in general) different than the US?

Anyone from NE?!

Hi there fellow Husker Sisters!

I was amazed to see all the posts for the good old Nebraska girls. I am now 6 days post surgery (TAH) and thought I was feeling pretty good until tonight.

I live just 15 miles west of Fremont, NE in the small community of North Bend. I grew up here, went to high school here, and now have settled down to raise my family with my husband (who just happens to have been my Jr. High science teacher)!

If anyone would like to chat directly, please let me know. I am finding that after the initial release from the hospital, most of my friends are busy finishing up their summer activities and aren't as eager to chat or hear about my recovery.
