Talking - Sizzling Saturday, June 9th Sizzling Saturday, June 9th

Morning everyone....

I finally have the house to myself -- DH has class all day!!

This week has finally ended and, it wasn't pretty -- enough said. Next week isn't shaping up to be any better... but my game plan is to prepare everything I want to take with me the day before so that I can make sure that I'm eating healthy.

Today... it's look like it's going to be a glorious day I'm really hoping to get a massage scheduled -- need to call to see if I can schedule one of the "sales" that they emailed last night.

The treadmill is finally available to me DH finished painting & put the house back together -- what a guy!! So I am planning on getting at least 30 mins on the treadmill today, and every day going forward.

Food today -- breakfast will be kashi cereal w/ soy milk; lunch will definitely be a salad as I'm sorely missing veggies lately; and dinner -- I'm thinking of picking up some seafood & making kebobs w/ a salad.

Ok... gotta get going to enjoy my "me" day!! Hi's to everyone!!

Sizzling Saturday is right!!!

It's here in Florida today. I haven't stepped out yet but DH keeps going in and out and he's a sopping wet mess. He's putting our pool together and promises it will be up tomorrow. We bought a 12 X 24 in mid April with the intention of it being installed and warming while I was recovering. It was supposed to be delivered in a week but took over 5 weeks come in, just a few days before my surgery. DH wasn't able to get it until a week after my surgery and hasn't had time to fool with it yet. Keep your fingers crossed for me that he gets it up because my muscles are SOOO ready for some activity!

I'm feeling terrific today. Best day yet (day 22). Clear in mind and spirit since even before my surgery. I've got my candles burning and the TV music station playing through the stereo, first day in WEEKS!! I got up and cooked DH a weeks worth of breakfast wraps with FF wraps, Southwest Egg Beaters, 2% Pepperjack cheese and salsa. I don't care much for them in the morning but I do love regular Egg Beaters with Pepperjack on a multi grain english muffin. This morning I'm just going for the muffin and a piece of fruit.

Lunch will be Boca Burgers, some celery and/or carrots and some new soy chips we picked up yesterday.

Dinner will be skinless chicken thighs, maybe on the grill with BBQ sauce, english cucumber, tomato and onion salad with LF sour cream, vinegar and a pinch of sugar and maybe a baked sweet potato.

I'm not counting my WW points yet. Today is my first day back on the wagon and I'm just trying to find my groove again. It always takes me a few days but I'll get there.

Exercise today: DH stripped the bed for me and I've Febreezed it and the pillows, I've already wiped down the toilets and sinks (can't do the tub yet), feather dusting, dry swiffer the floor, about 3 loads of laundry, some dishes and cooking. If I get it all done great, if not, there's always tomorrow. I'm still taking things easy and slow and won't over do it.

OH!! And I scale-hopped this morning (Wednesday is my actual WI day). As I was laying in bed this morning I felt "thinner" so I got up and got on the scale. I'm down another 1.5 pounds. That makes 12 total since I started WW again just before my surgery and 6 since my surgery. 2 more pounds and I'll be in another Weight Decade!!

That's all for now. Wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy Day today and Bottoms Up on the water!

Morning Everybody!

I'm trying out a brand new laptop. Oldest DS(18) has a summer job in an electronics store and of course, he tried out his sales approach on me (an easy sell). My old one is a "throw away" from DH's office that the guys revived for me and I've been very happy with it. I'm a cheap date...what can I say?? LOL

DH and DSs are working on the house project today, so I'm on my own. I may have an easier time of staying OP and getting some exercise in.

Questions about carbs. How many? How few? Can you overdo fruits and vegetables? After intense exercise is a piece of fruit okay (to avoid the ketosis) or must it be bread/energy bar or something grain related?

Breakfast and lunch the same as always. Dinner is veggie pizza.

Need to go back and reread posts from yesterday. There were a TON!!

Welcome to all the newbies!! We LOVE having you here. Look forward to knowing you better!!

Congrats to Melissa, Nanno and Julie (and anyone else I missed) on the weight loss!! WAIT FOR ME....I'M COMING!! No, seriously, go on ahead and clear a path. I'll catch up! If not, send a search party. LOL!

Sue...Enjoy your girl day! They're the GREATEST!

Catch up later! Have a GREAT Saturday

Red face - Sizzling Saturday, June 9th Sizzling Saturday, June 9th

Yep , it's "ME" sneaking back in with my tail between my legs....again! Hope you all aren't too upset with me that I show up for a bit and then seem to just vanish again. Hopefully now that school is on summer break I can post more often and become a 'regular' again!

I went to a new Good Will store that recently opened in my area. I noticed right away that they had a few fashion plus racks, I was excited to see that they had them. Well, let me tell you it was a very short lived excitement as once I got to them and started looking through them it was obvious to me that their version of 'plus size' varied greatly from mine! They had misses size 10's & 12's in with the fashion plus racks! I guess I must be a 'super plus size' to them then or something as those of you that know me know that I am a big girl. I wear a 20's and some 22's....2xlg's. I was pretty depressed when I left there!!

However I guess it could be viewed as a "good" slap in the face to get busy with shedding some pounds though right? Anyway it's pretty disheartening to feel that you are considered too big for the fashion plus section! I know thats a bit dramatic of an interpretation, but thats sort of how I felt though!!

Those of you that know me may remember that I am a planner/ list maker! I cannot function without my lists. So of course my next step is going to be to plan out my list/ plan of attack to get OUT of the 'super plus size' regimen! Thats the easy part....the hard part is DOING it! But, I know that with all of your help and support here I can do it!

Hope everyone has the BEST weekend!

Take Care, Dawn

YIKES! Just read this on the RealAge site. It explains ALOT regarding my choices in food the last couple of weeks. Haven't had a chance to read the whole article, but thought I'd share the blub with you guys. We've gotta get the zzzz's or we're in trouble!

"Research shows that when people attempt to resolve emotionally charged, dangerous situations on little sleep, they make the opposite choice from what they would have made when well rested."

HELLO DAWN! Good to "see" you again!!

Sizzling Saturday, June 9th

Good morning to all my B.E.S.T. friends,

I haven't posted in a while, but have continued on my weight loss journey. I have lost 6.8 lbs and still going. I wasn't exercising too much initially but am now incorporating at least walking everyday. I also garden a lot I quess that is activity.
I am also getting better about drinking water. Initially that was a problem for me but now that is all I drink and that is helping me get my quota in. Today I plan to garden and pack for vacation which will be sailing on Monday. I also will be staying in a cabin and will bring a lot of the food so I can stay OP as much as possible. I have been getting a lot of recipes on the weight watcher e-tools. So I have been trying a variety of different recipes! That has helped keep it interesting. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hi BESTers

And a wonderful , cooler afternoon to you all.

Firstly, before I forget again I have a tip that might help some of us. We know we're supposed to eat slowly, small bites, chew throughly. Try using a "seafood" fork. I have done that several times and it helped me. Last night I ate my salad using one and it took me much longer because they hold so much less. Now your on your own about the chewing part.

Secondly - Nanno you'd better watch out, you'll give me a big head. LOL You say such nice things about everyone.

Pools - holes in the ground (or above ground) into which you throw money. Sorta like a boat. We had 2 pumps, neither would work this year, neighbor just stopped by and with 5 minutes and a 5/16th wrench it's running! Yehhhhh. Now I just have to buy chemicals, a new inflow valve fitting, charge the filter, vacuum, skim........ LOL.

We want our pool to last one more summer - DH is ordered to swim for excerise when incision heals. Pools can be a lot of work, but we've enjoyed our above ground. And to think we bought it used for $200.00 - 5 or 6 yrs ago - and it was 10 yrs old (looked like new) when we got it.

I am eating and drinking. I'm being good today. No repeats of my bad behavior yesterday.
Bkft: 1 egg easy over w/1 slice toast, dry. Hot tea
Lunch: cat and I shared a can of Solid White Albacore Tuna (I got 4 oz, he got 2) again dry. Iced tea.
Dinner: I bought chicken patty's to grill for DD and myself. Will make a green veggie also.
Snacks: ? who me? Nahhhhh. Going to car show after airport run late afternoon. I'll try to be good me DH's sake.

**Dawn - Never upset to see you! We miss you and are glad ANYTIME you can get in here. Others ideas of large sized are always a joke. We're here as always with encouragement and ideas.
**Julie - your DH sounds like a keeper. Good for you.
**Sharron - ouch on the errosions. Hope the med's help you. From a vitamin? Why would that happen? Did doc explain? Let us know so we can avoid that also.
**Ali - you'll only be 2 hrs away from me next weekend.
**Michelle - glad you decided to stop by. We support any and all plans to help with healthy eating and excerise. Hope you decide to hang out with us.
**PJ - some of my worst decisions have been when I'm upset, tired, and hungry. As for being a cheap date - I'm in that club also. LOL.
**Chasity - you mean choco cake is NOT a resonable snack? I usually will beat up an old lady to get a piece for myself. LOL. That's ok, today is a new day.
**Julie - once your able to add the tub into the mix then it becomes "areobic" cleaning. LOL. My middle DD loves Boca Burgers. I have not tried them yet. Maybe I'm chicken?
**Sue - if you need to get rid of DH this summer, I've got 2 bedrooms need painting. I'll provide him lunch along with the paint. LOL.

OK I hope I didn't miss anyone. I need to get a couple more things done w/pool if I can. Airport run to pick up SIL then drop her off in Millville then to Crusie Down Memory Lane in Vineland - aobut 2,000 classic cars on display this evening. It's one of the best annual classic car shows around and it's free. The guy restoring my car says it will be done (sans interior - we're doing that) in a couple more weeks. Can't wait.

Hugs to everyone - have a fantastic day!
Melissa
