Anyone have LSH and bladder sling at the same time?

Help! I'm so nervous about my upcoming LSH and bladder sling surgery scheduled for July 23rd. What is the recovery time like? I'm 35 years old and have been living with severe pain and very heavy clotting periods. I have three children (ages 6, 4 and 2) and every month for 2 weeks I can barely get out of bed the pain is so bad. I know I need the surgery . . . but will I come out better on the other side? I would greatly appreciate your advice. Thanks for your help!

I'm sorry I don't have any helpful information to share with you. I just wanted to say Hi and send my best wishes for a smooth surgery and recovery! Hang in there and hopefully, someone who had the same procedures that you're facing will come along!

Anyone have LSH and bladder sling at the same time?

Smasa--

I've had a bladder sling and a TOT though I had a TVH instead of the LSH. When you have a bladder sling, your recovery tends to be a little longer than with just the HYST. Have you asked your doctor about any lifting restrictions you might have? I was told instead of the 6 week time period, I'd have 12 weeks of no lifting anything heavier than a gallon of milk (8 lbs.).

With the heavy bleeding you mention, it sure sounds like you May come out better after your HYST than you're doing now BUT it's certainly a decision only you can make for yourself.

For me, the TOT (transobturator tape for the urethra) is the best decision I made overall. I no longer leak when I sneeze or cough and I'm so grateful for that. I had problems with the bladder sling mesh used for my cystocele repair but the TOT one has never given me any problems. Do you know what type of bladder sling your doctor is recommending for you?

You can do a search on this board by going to the purple bar at the top of the page and typing in "LSH + bladder sling" with the quote marks around bladder sling and you will find many posts dealing with this very subject.

Best of the best to you in your research. Sending many +++ thoughts and extra good vibes.......
