Good Morning my BEST friends!

Good Morning Fran! We got my Dad one of those clocks..all his has on it is the day. Mom says he looks at it each morning and in reality, I think she does too.

I am down 2 pounds this morning. I'm sure it's the water weight that I knew I was hanging on to, but I'll take it. I was OP all day yesterday. And I drank tons of water. But I forgot to count how many cups. My big container which makes it easier to count, doesn't work as well for me in the warmer weather. My water doesn't stay cold long enough. I'll start keeping a tally of my large cups of water. I know how many ozs. it is, so it should be an easy count. But I know I had at least 80 oz.

I'm taking off for my walk now, before it gets too warm. School is almost out here, so the morning walks will be even quieter after tomorrow.

I'll check in later and I still need to read last nights later posts.
Have a BEST OP day everyone!

Hi Fran and Nancy and all the best BEST ladies!!

Fran, I woke at 3 am, too today. I'm so glad to see you back, I hope all is well!
Nancy, congrats on those two pounds, no matter what the reason for their disappearance. I find I can drink more water when it is at room temperature than if it's cold. That makes drinking a lot more convenient!
Dany, welcome back!! I've been worried about you!
Melissa, I know coconut is pretty much all fat, all saturated fat at that. But one book I'd read a book by Udo Erasmus that was recommended to me by a canine health professional, um, health expert, something like that, called "Fats That Heal, Fats That Kill: The Complete Guide to Fats, Oils, Cholesterol and Human Health" and I admit I did not read all of it, but he does not eschew fresh coconut. I don't remember the details, but I figured that a small amount of fresh coconut now and then is not going to hurt. I should dig out the book again and in my spare time I could read it Maybe if it is available on Audible.com I could manage to read it - hmm that's a thought.

Today I must drink more water and listen to my conscience for a change.
Fiber One bar for breakfast and salad planned for lunch. Fruit for snacks and a haystack too. If I can only avoid dinner, my least favorite meal of the day on worknights.

Good morning all,
I am up (I think) started a load of laundry, did my first 2 1/2 mile walk - outside- not too muggy yet this morning and now waiting to drive DS to the school where he is doing his community service work. They have him coaching the K-3 age kids. Gave him coaches shirts and even a whistle - he came home yesterday exhausted and had to leave for his own basketball practice shortly after. Tonight he has a game after the camp. He should be good and tired when this is over. I have a list of things to keep me busy too.
Desk - I eat, when I remember to, I am not a great eater though since being diagnosed with cancer. You have to catch me at the right time. Things smell and taste differently to me so where before cancer I would eat anything now many foods turn my stomach. I have to eat in small quantities and have a hard time with those. that is why everything has to be very quality food. Plus I am still on alot of oral meds which also affect my appetite and taste. So far I am ok with my weight but my docs don't want me to be too thin because in case something really bad happens again - I might lose alot of weight in a short period of time - and I would have no reserves. I am still about 136 and look healthy still wearing a misses 2-4 so I am not a toothpick.
A reminder from DD - Since we are all big walkers - remember that walking mostly works your calves, hamstrings (upper back part of your legs) and glutes (butt) but does not work your quads (upper front part of your legs) if you don't belong to a gym that has a leg extension machine, leg press or ride a bicycle you need to do some leg lifts or sit in a chair and if you have ankle weights do leg extensions in the chair using them. This is especially important for people who are experiencing knee pain. It will also help tighten those quads up - don't want to leave out a muscle group.
I am off to chauffeur to bb camp. Will catch you later. Lynn

Good Morning

I didn't get the fire ring completed yesterday, but hope to finish it up today. My back and arms aren't as sore as I thought they might be so I am exciting about getting at it and finishing it up!!

Eating was so-so yesterday. I think I made good choices, but portions were too large.

I agree with the comments made yesterday in regards to mayo. I cannot do the lighter versions either. Also cannot do the lighter versions of butter either....yuk! I prefer to go with the real deal and just use it sparingly.

I did not drink much water yesterday, so will try to be more aware of that today!

Take Care, Dawn

Good Morning BESTers!

All I can say is AHHHHhhhhhh. I did get in the pool last night (yes Dany, I was released to swim as soon as my staples were out, day 6 ). It was absolutely unbelievable how good I felt when I got out. I didn't really "swim" but floated on a float and was able to move my arms and legs. Being weightless and able to stretch every single muscle without any pressure was pure heaven. It removed all the tension of my abdomen and lower back for hours. I can't wait to get in today.

Dinner last night was still NOT the chicken thighs . I had a WW Boboli pizza crust in the pantry and made a veggie pizza with steamed brocoli, cremini mushrooms, red pepper, onion and LF mozzarella. Had a full glass of FF milk (2 servings worth.)

Plan for the day:
B: light multi-grain muffin, egg beaters cooked in a little olive oil, 2% pepperjack cheese, slice of tomato, 1/2 grapefruit
L: turkey sandwich, WW bread, 2% cheese slice and veggies
D: since I am working from home today I will sniff the chicken. If I smell even the slighest bit of funkyness they are out of here. If not, I will fire up the grill at some point today and get them all cooked before DH gets home. If not, I'll defrost some fresh, frozen shrimp that a neighbor caught the other night and grill them. Maybe add some scallops if I'm in the mood and whip up some veggies.
S: diced watermelon and grapes
Water - I've almost finished my first 16oz.

Nanno, where are you in Michigan? I'm originally from Rochester but grew up in Lake City on Sapphire Lake. DH and I had planned a trip there this spring but my surgery interferred with our plans. I've been in Florida for 30+ years but I'll always be a Michigander at heart and get back as often as I can. I LOVE it there!

Nancy, congratulations on the loss!!!

That's all for now. Need to get busy with some work. I also want to tidy up the house a little bit at some point today. I'll check in later.

Have the BEST day ladies!!

Morning All!!

Okay...up and at 'em. Lynn read my mind again. Very scary. I had terrible knee pain yesterday. Time to get back on the bicycle AND completely detox from the sweets. I'm a true sweets junky and I'm apparently "at the age" where naughtiness is going to have a swift price to pay. So, it's back to the grindstone along with the rest of you!

Food yesterday was good. Missed a little water as DH and I were on the road for part of the afternoon. Managed to get about 30 minutes of walking despite the knees. Today exercise will be the bike and some pilates (need the stretch for destressing purposes)/

Nancy...Congrats on the weight loss!! I count everything...good for the attitude.
Yvonne...You're doing so GREAT!! Such boundless energy! How do you do it! (proper diet and exercise, I know!)
Lynn...Keep searching for opportunties to rest. Did you find the perfect dress for the ball? You're like Cinderella!! Can't wait to hear about it!
Dany...Hello! I"ve been thinking of you!
Julie...That time in the pool sounded glorious! I LOVE to swim!

Hellos to Desk, Dawn and Nanno and All who follow today! I'll try to get back in later!

Ok, yesterday was pretty much OP! I feel a little better since upping my H2O intake. So far today I am on my third bottle, and have done my elliptical(Not very long though due to it pulling in my ovaries, long enough to break a sweat though!). I have also this week cut myself down to `1 c coffee!!!! YAYYYY!(I still have to have 1 due to migraine monsters). It was always a big joke around here that I didn't wake up until I had my 4th cup, and ,my cup is actually a campbells soup mug! Now I am beginning to wonder if the coffee didn't have something to do with feeling so drained?!? I seen that hardly ANYONE was drinking coffee and decided to try it for myself! THANKS BESTERS!!!!!

ok, I am going to try and attempt this, if I miss someone I am soooo sorry, I am trying to learn this though!:

Fran.K ~ your menu sounds great! And hopefully the clock works, I might have to check into that for my DGrandmother(whom I help take care of)

Nancy~ Congrats on the 2 lbs!! and I am with Desk, on the straight off the counter water, even though I know(Or have been told) that you burn more calories when it's cold!

Desk~ My problem is dinner too, due to an 8 yr old DS(William), and a DH! My 3 yr old DS(Gabriel) would be right there with me, we could have a salad EVERY night and there not be a problem, but the other 2 don't care for salad like we do, so I usually have to cook 2 meals almost!

Nanno~ Yardwork to me has always counted as a workout, I feel like I have used more muscles doing YW than when I use my Total Gym!!! Maybe bc I tend to do it all day!

Lynn~ WOW, a 2 1/2 mile walk, and started laundry ALL before 8 am?!?!? And yes, 3 yr olds will wear you out!(I have one!) Thanks for the reminder about the quads!!

Dawn~ yes, I agree, I don't do the light or FF on anything either! That is where Portion Control comes in!I prefer to have a sandwich a little dryer than gooey! Hope you get the fire ring together, it sure sounds nice! And Bottoms up on the H2o today!

Julie~ AHHHH..I KNOW you are enjoying the pool! I sure am! I find that I can get lots of cardio done in the pool without making my stomach hurt! And it also releaves my back pain as well! And your menu sounds great!

Pjd~glad to see that I am NOT the only sweet junky here! I have managed to use lots of self control this last week (As I have 2 DS 3&8 and some sweets in the house!) We can do it though!

B~Sp-K w/RBerries w/ skim milk
L~ salad, 1 small apple OR a turkey sand on WW bread and an apple
D~ grilled chicken, speckled butter beans, boiled okra..Hopefully!LOL
S~ fruit/ yogurt
E~ Elliptical machine, Swimming
H2O~ at LEAST 100 ozs! Already 50 ozs

Hope everyone has an OP day with their food, H2O and Exercise!!!!
HAPPY TUESDAY!!!!!

Checking back in quickly...Hi Desk, Nanno, Lynn, Dawn, Julie, PJ and Chastity.

I've started my laundry, in the basement, so with all the steps involved it will be aerobic .

I did my 3 miles this morning.

And I just finished cleaning all the nasty goop out of my back garden pond. It had been neglected so far this year due mostly to lack of time and ambition to get into that mess. Lots and lots of exercise there moving all the nasty water out, cleaning it, and getting it refilled. Now it's bubbling along nicely.

Food so far has been good. Also my water. I've had 48 oz. so far, but I'm heading in to have some more.

I'd love to drop some of this newly found weight in the next month (38 days to be exact). We have a family reunion in MA and I'd like to feel a bit better in my clothes. It would be nice just to get rid of about 10 pounds. I think that would make all the difference in how my shorts and stuff are fitting right now.

I might hope on the recumbent bike today too. I sort of use that as I'm taking a break. I put something on the TV that I want to see, and then don't think about the bike. It sure works for me that way.

I'll check back in later.
