Post Op HOT FLASHES

I am 10 days post op from a laprascopic hysterectomy. They put an estrengen patch on me in surgery that lasted a week and then I got a prescription for Estrodiol 1mg and started that on Wednesday 6/13/07. I felt pretty good that day but the HOT Flashes have started again and come and go all day long. What have some of you taken or done to alleviate the menopause symptoms?

I would give the hormone pill more time for it to work for you. Your body has to adjust to not having ovaries, and now has to adjust to the hrt. You might start seeing some results within a week or two and fully around a month. I found that dressing in cool cotton clothes, use a fan at night, and carry ice water with you to keep comfortable. I also found it helps to stay away from trigger foods like caffiene, sugar, spicy foods, and alcohol.

Hang in there
