Can IC cause blood in urine?

I'm a bit worried here. Had severe bladder pain last week. DH had some urine strips that checked for blood, but nothing else. It showed up big time with blood and looked cloudy. Urogyn called in an antibiotic and I'm on day 5 of a 7 day course. Used a strip today and it's still showing blood! I didn't know if blood showed up with IC or not, I was told I have a mild-moderate case. I see the urogyn on Friday. DH wanted me to call earlier, but he only sees patients on Fridays, no procedures or surgeries, so he's less apt to be rushed and tired. And I want to have a chance to really talk to him.

Can IC cause blood in urine?

I had blood in the urine whilst I was suffering for atrophy, along with other symptoms which are very similar to IC....

Now that I am established on vaginal oestrogen (Vagifem), the bladder problems have gone away along with the vaginal soreness and dryness issues, presumably as the inflammation has settled and the tissue healed.

Can IC cause blood in urine?

Have you checked out www.ic-network.com. I know there are people there who do have blood in their urine almost all the time. If you read some of their stories it might help ease your mind until your Friday appointment. Good luck by the way and I hope you get some answers.
