I am sitting here crying...my doctor just called to tell me "someone" cancelled.....

My doctors office just called me and "someone" cancelled MY surgery for tomorrow and I have been rescheduled for June 28th @ 9am.
After having to change my medications, having to wait a month for the Rapamune(anti-rejection med for my liver transplant)to be out of my system, then having to go to labs 2 times a week to watch my liver enzymes and kidneys, doing my bowel prep all morning and everything I have been thru just to get to the day before and be told that "someone" CANCELLED MY SURGERY!! How does that even happen??
So now I am having to call everyone I know and tell them NOT to go to the hospital tomorrow because I won't be there. Called my DH and told him he can work the rest of the week.
Needless to say I am very upset. And just went off on that poor nurse that had the awful job of calling me to tell me the bad news.
I wish everyone luck tomorrow and wish I was going to the castle as well....

Itty, soooo sorry that happened. Mine was changed last minute too. Nothing compared to yours & your medicine. It really bites. It throws you for a loop. On the positive side, by the time I did get to have surgery I was so glad that the day was here that I was totally mellow and no nerves. Sorry again!

Sorry to hear this happened, after all the waiting. Do you know if your doctor cancelled it, or why it was cancelled? Take care.

I was told another doctor cancelled their patient (dunno why) and that it got mixed up and I ended up being the one that was cancelled.

Angie...I'm so sorry that happened to you!!! I was supposed to have surgery on 6/4. I went and had a terrible reaction to the pre-op meds and an anxiety attack! Now, I'm scheduled for next week and so much more prepared and relaxed. I know that doesn't make you feel better right now....

I am thinking of you!!!

Thanks everyone!! I appreciate the support!

It just seemed like a total shock to my system when the nurse said "I know you don't want to hear this right now but....there has been some kind of mistake...." (kinda went blank after I heard my surgery was cancelled~had to call back and get the details from her).

It has taken me some time to calm down and relax. (I am still working on that) but I do realize that things happen for a reason so I obviously need to have this surgery next week instead of tomorrow (even though I don't like it I will have to accept that fact).

Thank you all for the cyber 's and I know I will get thru this with the help from my sisters!!

You should be upset. I would make sure I talked to the doctor to ask how this kind of thing could happen. You are owed something for your time and mental diress. I'm so sorry this happened to you. Can you make an appt to go talk to him and discuss it with him?

Hang in there.
