I'm scheduled for the Novasure!

I am 20 min late for my apt, doc walks in, I humbly appologize and he says its ok not to worry and my procedure is scheduled for July 6th. I was a bit shocked and then he went into why. One of the fibroids is sitting on the lining which is probably causing my bleeding. He says the ablation should take care of it and if he believed a hysterectomy would be best he would certainly do one. He said he loves doing hysterectomys. I'm guessing the apt is so soon since in August he will be in Guatamala performing procedures. Stanford is a learning hosptial so a resident will be doing the procedure with him by their side.
I'm nervous of course and hope this is not just a band aid, but right now I'm ok with it.
I asked how long I need to board my dogs and he said 1 day should be fine, after 24 hours he doesn't care what I do. Is that normal? I thought it would be nothing inserted (ie.. a penis) for 6 weeks or something.
Time to research research research.

I'm scheduled for the Novasure!

I had the cryo-ablation proceedure (the one they do in the office with an ultrasound--it freezes the lining) and that sounds about right to me. I went home the same day. Laid on the couch, I was honestly feeling better about 4-6 hours after the surgery and he told me to just take it easy for 2-3 days afterwards. I was given vicodin and 800 mg of ibuprofen. I took the vicodin until bed and kept up the ibuprofen through the 3 days---just because I didn't want to be in pain. The pain was like cramping. I think the no insertion for 6 weeks sounds right---gives everything time to heal, rest, and recover.

Novasure

hi there! I had Novasure Aug 2006 and I was told nothing "IN" until nothing is coming out! *L* I had discharge for approx 3-4 weeks anyway. From everything I read before and after the EA, the discharge is normal and a part of the healing. Good luck!

I'm scheduled for the Novasure!

Thanks I need them. I leave in 6 hours. I'm procrastinating running to the store to get some frozen dinners. The anxiety level is pretty high about now.
